“Step Up Revolution” director Scott Speer has pleaded not guilty to child abuse and arson charges, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said Friday.
Speer was charged with one felony count each of arson, injuring a spouse, child abuse, criminal threats and resisting arrest. He is expected to return for a preliminary hearing on June 17 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
According to the D.A.’s office, Speer is accused of getting into an argument with his wife on April 18 and hitting her. He is further accused of threatening to set things on fire inside their Hollywood Hills home, and of lighting a broom on fire, placing the broom next to the house. Prosecutors said the couple’s 7-month-old daughter was at home during the incident.
