Starz is in development on a sequel series to Showtime’s pot comedy “Weeds,” with Mary-Louise Parker attached to return as Nancy Botwin.
The series, which is from Starz’s owner Lionsgate, ran on Showtime from 2005-2012. The new version will come from executive producer Victoria Morrow, who served as a writer and co-executive producer on the original version. Parker will also be an executive producer on the new series.
The series would pick up with the Botwin family 10 years after the end of the show during the era of marijuana legalization.
