If you’re a millennial—or perhaps a parent or babysitter of a millennial in the 1990s—you might remember the weird fever dream of Walt Disney direct-to-video sequels: Ariel and Eric’s daughter Melody rebelling against her parents to get a tail and be part of that oceanic world; Pocahontas’ awkward love triangle with John Smith and John Rolfe; Cinderella and her evil stepmother going all Avengers: Endgame to change the past.
