Titled after Kaku Arakawa’s Nhk documentary about the Japanese anime visionary Hayao Miyazaki “Never-Ending Man”, Steve Alpert’s business memoir “Sharing a House with the Never-Ending Man” tells the story of the famed anime studio from a different perspective, that of business.
In the middle of the nineties, the then-Disney employee Steve Alpert was scouted by Toshio Suzuki from Studio Ghibli to head the newly opened international division of the studio’s parent company, the conglomerate Tokuma Shoten. For the next fifteen years, he worked for the company, helping it grow and get numerous international deals.
