I’ve written in previous reviews just how much I like these Young Adult books. DC haven’t exactly covered themselves in glory in a lot of ways in recent times (closing down Vertigo for one) but this division has been one of the real successes. DC knew to make a real splash in the very competitive Young Adult market they would need top talent working on these books, and they secured just that. E. Lockhart, the writer of this volume, is just the latest in a line of award winning authors to be coaxed in. The brief has always been to take the core of certain popular DC characters, add in some real life angst and worry, and construct a story in the style of a YA novel.
