Noah Hawley was understandably nervous to bring "Fargo" to the small screen. Hawley told the Daily Beast, "You don't want to be the guy who ruined the Coen Brothers. It's like kicking the Pope." The 1996 film premiered to critical and commercial success, earning Joel and Ethan Coen an Academy Award for best original screenplay and best actress for its star Frances McDormand.
