Hca TV Awards 2022: ‘Severance,’ ‘Ted Lasso,’ & More Win Big on Night 2
The 2022 Hollywood Critics Association’s (Hca) TV Awards continued on Sunday, August 14, as the ceremony celebrated the best streaming series of the year. Comedian Cameron Esposito hosted Sunday’s festivities at the Beverly Hilton; she replaced Tig Notaro, who had tested positive for Covid-19 over the weekend. “I can’t believe you were able to squeeze these awards into two days,” Esposito joked, adding that the only TV shows she watches are on streaming. Among the night’s biggest winners were Apple TV+’s Severance, which topped the evening with five wins, including Best Streaming Drama Series, and Hulu’s Dopesick, which picked up four awards, including Best Streaming Limited or Anthology Series. HBO comedy Hacks also walked away with three awards, while Apple’s Ted Lasso was named Best Streaming Comedy Series.
