Poll: Who Are the '90s Kids?

You may or may not be aware of that (and you probably wouldn't care if you are not directly concerned) but there's been an endless and heated debate ever since the late 2000's/early 2010's over the proper qualification of "'90s kids", and the row is still serious between Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network nostalgics, and those poor youngsters who dare think of themselves as "'90s kids" because they were born in 1997!

Indeed, many Internet users take pride from having grown up with the Golden Age of TV programs and animation and lived the final and exhilarating gasp of a pre-September 11 world, devoid of technology and not governed yet by Internet and social networks. But the question isn't about your generation but your definition of a '90s kid.

Granted some might have a personal vision, considering them either as people stuck in the realm of the 90's and obsessed with the TV/music/trends of that era or (more severely) as a self-centered generation with an annoying and pointless superiority complex, this poll demands an answer based on simple and objective terms of reference.

In your opinion, who are the 90's kids?

For me, they're the ones born between the late '80s and the mid-'90s. People tend to forget that the world didn't change in one night, '90s programs were aired in the 2000s, there were many re-runs, cassettes were still used in the 2000s, in fact, you could feel you were in the '90s till the mid-2000s.

Frankie Muniz in Malcolm in the Middle (2000)

For me, a '90s kid is someone born during between January 1, 1990 and December 31, 1999, as simple as that. It's a "mathematical" qualification, which means that (generation-wise) a '90s kids is most likely to have grown up with a majority of early '2000s programs (part '90s, part 2000s shows)

    Elizabeth Daily in Rugrats (1991)

For me, it's a person born between the early '80s (81-83) to the early '90s (90-92), who lived at least half of their childhood (hence the "kids") during the '90s. Kids born in the middle or the late '90s won't have real memory of that decade.

    The Simpsons (1989)

For me, a '90s kid is someone who was born between the late '70s to the mid-'80s, which means that no matter when his childhood started, he will fully remember the '90s, from the day they started.
