Poll: Patriotic British Union Jack Flag Movie Posters

The Union Jack, also known as the Union Flag is the de facto ‘national flag of the United Kingdom’. The present Union Flag combines elements of three of the four national flags of the constituent countries that make up the United Kingdom: the red cross on a white background of Saint George for the Kingdom of England, the white saltire on a blue background of Saint Andrew for Scotland, and the red saltire of Saint Patrick represents Ireland. The fourth constituent country, Wales' red dragon is absent and not given separate representation within the flag. The flag was primarily designed to represent the watershed unification brought by Treaty of Union in 1706 and Acts of Union 1800. Wales has been part of the Kingdom of England since 1282 and preceded both treaties by over four centuries. One of the most recognized symbols worldwide since its creation, the Union flag can be found incorporated in other flags throughout the world. Sometimes, it is found in the flags of surprising places, like the State of Hawaii, USA; and the cities of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA; Coquimbo, Elqui, Chile; and Taunton, Massachusetts, USA among many other far flung locales.
