I think the way the story is able to so seamlessly encompass friendship, hardship, hope and resilience is second-to-none. It provides the type of magic you go to the movies for; to escape into another world and to really immerse yourself into the setting presented to you. Shawshank does this so well and has the power to really inspire. -
Titanic (1997)
