A native California, Marinelli and his wife Barbara have two daughters, Christine and Gina, and four grandchildren. He began his football career playing offensive tackle, first starting at Utah the finishing at California Lutheran University. Despite his collegiate career being split due to a tour of duty in Vietnam, Marinelli still earned All-America honors at Cal-Lutheran in 1972.
Marinelli spent the next 20 years coaching at the collegiate level. He spent time coaching the defensive line at Southern California, Arizona State, University of California, and Utah State. Marinelli made his jump to the NFL in 1996 when he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he served as the defensive line coach from 1996-2005. During his tenure, Marinelli guided a successful defensive line that accounted for 328.5 sacks- one of the top numbers in the league during that time period. Marinelli moved to Detroit for three seasons where he was the head coach of the Lions, then he made his way to the windy city of Chicago where he became the assistant coach/defensive line coach and then eventually defensive coordinator. As Chicago's defensive coordinator, Marinelli's unit forced the most fumbles (59), intercepted the third most passes (65), and scored the most defensive tackles in a three season period.
With a wide berth of experience, Marinelli joined the Dallas Cowboys in January of 2013 as the team's defensive lines coach. His first season in Dallas got off to a rough start as many players in his unit were limited in their game play due to injury. However, under Marinelli's leadership and his new position as defensive coordinator, the defense made major improvements during the 2014 season as the team finished second in the league with 31 takeaways, moving from 32nd to 19th. The 2016 Cowboys defense procured major developments as the team led the league in rushing yards allowed (83.5 per game) and finished sixth in plays of 20 or more yards allowed (51). Marinelli continues to guide Dallas' defensive line and foster heavy defensive hitters such as Sean Lee and DeMarcus Lawrence. - "Greg Mattison is in his third season as defensive line coach for the Wolverines in 2017 after serving as Michigan's defensive coordinator for four seasons (2011-14).
He returned to Ann Arbor in 2011 after spending three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, when in 2009-10 he coordinated one of the NFL's top defensive squads after coaching the linebackers in 2008.
Most recently in 2016, Mattison coached one of college football's most elite units on the nation's top defense, which ranked first or second in the NCAA in seven categories, leading the Big Ten in eight categories, including: scoring defense, total defense, sacks, tackles for loss, first downs allowed and third down conversion percentage. Nearly 45 percent (44.5; 5.62 per game) of opponents' possessions ended in a three-and-outs, and U-M allowed just 28 red zone trips all season, fewest in the nation. Eight opponents were held to fewer than 85 yards rushing, and that same number of teams failed to score a rushing touchdown against Michigan. U-M finished second in tackles for loss per game (9.3) and ranked fourth in tackles for loss per game (3.54), the only school in the country to average more than nine and three in those two categories. Eight games in 2016 featured double-digit Wolverine tackles for loss, and seven of U-M's 13 opponents were held to 10 points or fewer. Starters Chris Wormley (40 tackles, six sacks, nine tackles for loss), Taco Charlton (43 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 13 TFL; all career-highs), Ryan Glasgow (42 tackles, four sacks, 9.5 TFL; all career-highs) and Matt Godin (26 tackles, one sack, two TFL; all career-highs) enjoyed standout senior seasons, and each earned All-Big Ten honors, with first or second-team honors coming for Wormley and Charlton. Mattison also coached Rashan Gary and Chase Winovich to breakout seasons with a combined 14.5 tackles for loss and six sacks, with five sacks for Winovich. In 2015, Mattison helped coach a defense that held the opposition to less than 100 rushing yards in seven games, and to less than 60 yards rushing in five contests. The defense pitched a shutout in three consecutive games for the first time since the 1980 season (BYU, Maryland and Northwestern); Michigan became the first FBS school to accomplish the feat since Kansas State shut out three straight opponents in 1995. Chris Wormley, who earned All-Big Ten third team (coaches) and honorable mention (media) honors in 2015, was the team leader with 14.5 tackles for loss and tied for the team lead with 6.5 sacks. Willie Henry was also an All-Big Ten honorable mention (coaches and media) in 2015, registering 34 tackles, while co-leading the team with 6.5 sacks to go along with 10 TFLs. An experienced, proven defensive coach, Mattison brought to Ann Arbor 15 years of defensive coordinator experience at the collegiate level and two seasons in the NFL. During his time at the collegiate level, he has coached 19 future NFL players, including eight student-athletes drafted in the first three rounds and two first-round picks. From 2011-14, Mattison's defenses ranked among the top 20 nationally in three of the four seasons in total defense, pass defense and scoring defense, turning around a unit that in 2010 ranked 108th nationally in scoring defense, 110th in total defense, 95th in rushing defense and 112th in passing defense. In his first season back in Ann Arbor, Mattison coordinated a Wolverines defense that helped U-M to an 11-2 record and a Sugar Bowl victory. The defense ranked second in the Big Ten and sixth nationally in scoring defense, surrendering 17.4 points per game, while it allowed 322.2 yards per game, ranking fourth in the conference and 17th in the country. The Wolverines also led the Big Ten in fourth-down conversion percentage (38.1 percent), red zone defense (68.3 percent scoring efficiency), turnovers forced (29) and fumbles recovered (20), while they ranked third in rushing defense (131.7 yards per game) and third-down conversion percentage (36.4 percent). Mattison was named a Frank Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year finalist. In 2012, Mattison's defense allowed 19.8 points per game, fourth in the Big Ten and 20th nationally. The Wolverines surrendered just 320.0 yards per game, ranking second in the conference and 13th in the FBS, and 169.5 passing yards per game, second in the Big Ten and tied for fifth in the country. Meanwhile, in February 2013, Mattison was named the ESPN Recruiting Nation Recruiter of the Year. In 2014, the Wolverines listed seventh in total defense (311.3 avg.), 15th in rushing defense (117.7 avg.), tied for 20th in passing yards (193.7 avg.) allowed and 28th in scoring defense (22.4 avg.) and tackles for loss (6.8 avg.).
Mattison spent more than 30 years at the collegiate level, most recently as the co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach for the University of Florida for three seasons (2005-07). His defenses ranked among the top 10 nationally in rushing defense each of his three seasons. Mattison helped the Gators win the 2006 national championship and SEC championship. His defense held Ohio State to 82 yards of total offense in a 41-14 victory in the BCS National Championship game. Mattison spent eight seasons (1997-2004) at Notre Dame before making the jump to Gainesville. He was hired as the team's defensive coordinator and alternated between coaching the linebackers and defensive line during his first five seasons. Mattison served as the Irish's recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach his final three seasons with the program (2002-04). During his previous stint in Ann Arbor, Mattison coached the defensive line (1992-96) and was the team's defensive coordinator in his final two seasons (1995-96). The Wolverine defense ranked among the top 20 nationally in many statistical categories during his two seasons as coordinator. Mattison has gained a wealth of experience during his coaching career. He also held coaching stints at Texas A&M (1989-91), Navy (1987-88), Western Michigan (1982-86), Northwestern (1978-80), Cornell (1977) and Illinois (1976). Mattison was head coach at Logan High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin, for two seasons (1974-75). He began his coaching career as head coach at Riverdale High School in Muscoda, Wisconsin (1971-73).
He earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1971. He was team captain for the football and wrestling teams as a junior and senior. Mattison earned All-America honors in wrestling and was named the Offensive MVP for the football team as a senior. Mattison and his wife, Ann, have two adult children: Lisa and Bryan. Lisa was a three-time All-Big East selection as a member of the Notre Dame softball team. Bryan was a two-time captain and three-year starter at defensive end for the University of Iowa football team and spent four seasons in the NFL as an offensive lineman." - Actor

Few would have guessed that "Weird Al" Yankovic - who as a shy, accordion-playing teenager got his start sending in homemade tapes to the Dr. Demento Radio Show - would go on to become a pop culture icon and the biggest-selling comedy recording artist of all time, with classic song and music video parodies such as "Eat It," "Like a Surgeon," "Smells Like Nirvana," "Amish Paradise," "White & Nerdy" and "Word Crimes." Now in his fourth decade as America's foremost song parodist, he has been honored with four Grammy® Awards and fifteen nominations, including a 2015 win for his 14th studio album Mandatory Fun.
Alfred Matthew Yankovic was born on October 23, 1959, in the Los Angeles suburb of Lynwood, to Mary Elizabeth (Vivalda) and Nick Louis Yankovic. His father was of Yugoslavian descent and his mother was of Italian and English ancestry. He first took up the accordion when a salesman came around to solicit business for a music school. His parents decided on the accordion because of polka king Frankie Yankovic (no relation). As a child and young teen, Al watched a lot of television, which gave him much inspiration for his later work. He also became a fan of such musician/comedians as Allan Sherman and Spike Jones. He became especially acquainted with these musicians through the radio show of Barry Hansen, aka "Dr. Demento", which would later become a great source of publicity for his talents. After an extraordinary career at Lynwood High School, where Al graduated as valedictorian, he attended the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo to study architecture, a field he is said to have chosen because it was listed first in the catalog (although he has said that he really chose it on the advice of a guidance counselor). It was at Cal Poly that Al had a radio show and earned the nickname "Weird Al". Although he had sent tapes to Dr. Demento in the past, it was at Cal Poly where he recorded his first real published piece, a parody of the popular "My Sharona" by The Knack, called "My Bologna". After the astounding success of that song, forever to be known as the "bathroom recording" as it was recorded in the acoustically perfect mens' room, Al began his phenomenal career, which has spanned twelve albums, numerous compilations, a box set, movies, videos and edible underwear. He has also done a great deal to advance the cause of accordion-wielding weirdos, for which we can all be thankful.
In addition to his 1989 cult hit feature film UHF, his late 1990s CBS Saturday morning series The Weird Al Show and numerous AL-TV specials he has made for MTV and VH1 over the years, Yankovic has remained a staple of film and television, from appearances on The Simpsons and 30 Rock to performing on the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards. More recently he guested on ABC's Galavant (as a singing monk) and The Goldbergs (as the '80s version of himself). In the spring of 2015 Yankovic joined the fifth and final season of IFC's Comedy Bang! Bang! as its co-host and bandleader. Al can be heard as the voice of the title character in Disney XD's animated series Milo Murphy's Law. Additional voiceover work includes Gravity Falls, Wander Over Yonder, Adventure Time, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, The 7D, Teen Titans Go!, We Bare Bears, Pig Goat Banana Cricket, Uncle Grandpa, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Bojack Horseman, and the DC animated feature Batman vs. Robin. Other notable past projects include the 2009 themed attraction Al's Brain: A 3-D Journey through the Human Brain, featuring cameos by everybody from his mother-in-law to Paul McCartney. Two years later, Comedy Central broadcast and released the concert special "Weird Al" Yankovic Live: The Alpocalypse Tour, filmed at Toronto's venerable Massey Hall. Yankovic added "New York Times bestselling author" to his resumé in 2011 with the release of his children's book, When I Grow Up (HarperCollins), followed two years later by My New Teacher and Me! An animated series based on his children's books is being developed in partnership with the Jim Henson Company. 2012 saw the release of Weird Al: The Book (Abrams), an illustrated hardcover on Al's life and career, and in 2015 Yankovic became not only MAD Magazine's cover boy, but the first Guest Editor in their 63-year history. 2016 saw the release of George Fest: A Night to Celebrate the Music of George Harrison, featuring Al's live performance of "What is Life?" The past year has seen the June premiere of the Dreamworks animated film Captain Underpants, for which Al co-wrote and performed the film's theme song, and the release by NECA Toys of the second in its line of retro-clothed Weird Al action figures. In August, Al wrote and performed "The North Korea Polka (Please Don't Nuke Us)" on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
In May 2017, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that Weird Al would be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In November of this year, Legacy Recordings will release Squeeze Box: The Complete Works of "Weird Al" Yankovic, a career-spanning box set of all 14 of Al's studio albums remastered for 150-gram vinyl and CD formats, plus an exclusive rarities album and 120-page book of archival photos, all housed in a replica of Weird Al's trademark accordion. Released in July 2014, Mandatory Fun became the first comedy album in history to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and the first to reach the top of the chart since 1963. Yankovic set the U.S. record on Spotify for having the most tracks from one album in the viral top 10 at one time, taking the first four spots. Internationally, the album debuted in the Top 10 in both Canada and Australia (#3 and #9 respectively). In addition, "Word Crimes" debuted in the Billboard Top 40, making Al one of only four artists to have had Top 40 singles in each of the last four decades - the other three are Michael Jackson, Madonna and U2. For Mandatory Fun, Al blew up the internet by releasing eight music videos in eight days, including "Tacky" (the star-studded parody of Pharrell Willliams' "Happy") and "Word Crimes" (an animated grammar lesson to the tune of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines"). Combined, the videos accrued more than 46 million views in their first week. In 2015 and 2016, Weird Al's Mandatory World Tour encompassed 200 shows throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australia, including two nights with a full orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl and a tour-ending sold-out show at New York's Radio City Music Hall. Among his many other past music and video milestones, Yankovic's 2006 album Straight Outta Lynwood spawned the Platinum Billboard Top 10 anthem "White & Nerdy," while the video spent two straight months at #1 on iTunes.
Weird Al has launched The Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour, playing stripped-down shows in smaller, more intimate theatres across North America with his band of over three decades.- Actress
