- Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Logyn was fortunate to grow up surrounded by jazz, learning the values of improvisation on various instruments, his first love being the drum set. It was from these values that he discovered big band composition and later, discovered classical music, falling in love with melodic economy and seem-less orchestration. During this switch, he heavily studied music composition at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. He has had much joy in working on various genres of film/media, his last project being writing music for a film mentored by Aaron and Jordan Kandell, screenwriters for Disney's Moana. This past summer, Logyn was commissioned by the Hawaii Chamber Music Festival, composing a piano rhapsody featuring Lincoln Center/Carnegie Hall pianist Sean Kennard. He is working on various international independent projects, composing the 2024 Hawaii International Film Festival trailer, and a personal film involving a session recording with the magnificent Budapest Scoring. More than anything, Logyn has always been fascinated with fitting an individualized aural palette to a piece of media. His works within different genres of film display his appreciation of this approach, as he enjoys the journey to create a tailored musical suit, bringing forth another dimension to an already beautiful story.
