Sergei Loznitsa, Ukrainian film maker, was born on September, 5th 1964 in Baranovichi, USSR. He grew up in Kiev, and in 1987 graduated from the Kiev Polytechnic with a degree in Applied Mathematics. In 1987-1991 Sergei worked as a scientist at the Kiev Institute of Cybernetics, specializing in artificial intelligence research. He also worked as a translator from Japanese. In 1997 Loznitsa graduated from the Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow, where he studied feature film making. Loznitsa has been making documentary films since 1996 and is the author of 21 documentaries, as well as 4 feature films. In 2013 Sergei Loznitsa launched a film production and distribution company ATOMS & VOID. Currently working in both documentary and feature genres.- Lidia Korsakówna was born on 17 January 1934 in Baranowicze, Nowogródzkie, Poland [now Baranovichi, Belarus]. She was an actress, known for Dziewczeta z Nowolipek (1986), Adventure in Marienstadt (1954) and Kariera (1955). She was married to Kazimierz Brusikiewicz. She died on 6 August 2013 in Skolimów, Konstancin-Jeziorna, Mazowieckie, Poland.

Aliaksei Paluyan, a film director and writer, was born 1989 in Baranovichi in the Republic of Belarus. In 2012 he moved to Germany and studied film and television directing at the Kunsthochschule Kassel (Academy for the arts). He has become known to audiences as a director of fiction short films and documentaries that have been presented at festivals worldwide. With his unique artistic signature, Aliaksei Paluyan has achieved to transform highly personal stories from his homeland into themes of universal meaning and relevance. In 2019 his short fiction drama "Lake of Happiness" premiered in Clermont-Ferrand, won a numerous awards at international festivals, was a candidate for European Short Film at the 33rd European Film Awards in 2020 and also longlisted for the Oscars 2021. Aliaksei's documentary film debut "Courage" had its world premiere at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival.- Vladimir Gritsevskiy was born on 20 September 1949 in Baranovichi, Byelorussian SSR, USSR [now Belarus]. He is an actor and writer, known for Bryunetka za 30 kopeek (1991), Gosudarstvennaya granitsa (1980) and Mezhdu zhiznyu i smertyu (2003).
