- Bill Elliott is known in NASCAR as "Million Dollar Bill" for winning the Winston Million at Darlington Raceway in 1985. At the Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama, Bill Elliott set a track record of 212.809 mph and it still stands to this day. After a long drought from being away from Victory Lane, Bill came back in 2001 to win at the Homestead-Miami Speedway and in 2002 won at the Pocono Raceway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Today, Bill is still driving the #9 car, but the famous #9 is a dodge and he is driving for Evernham Motorsports. In 2001, after 7 years of not seeing victory Lane, he and the #9 Dodge won at Homestead-Miami Speedway and came back in 2002 and won at Pocono Raceway (Pennsylvania 500) and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Brickyard 400).
