Carl Hiaasen graduated from the University of Florida's School of Journalism in 1974. He has written many books, including "Tourist Season", "Double Whammy" and "Striptease", all crime/mystery books that take place in south Florida. In between writing books, Hiaasen writes a regular column for the Miami Herald. He's also a big fan of Warren Zevon.

Catherine Hickland is an American actress, best known for her starring roles on Daytime Television, most notably in the award-winning role of "Lindsay Rappaport" on ABC 's One Life to Live (1968). Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, her first professional job got her nationwide attention, as a stewardess in an airline "Fly Me" advertising campaign.
She has performed in many guest-starring roles on episodic television and been a frequent guest on "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee", "Live with Regis and Kelly", The Rosie O'Donnell Show (1996) and The Wayne Brady Show (2001). Miss Hickland starred on Broadway in "Les Miserables" as "Fantine". And the off-Broadway hit, "Pieces".
Fascinated by the mind and how it works, Catherine Hickland was first exposed to hypnosis, as a young girl watching Pat Collins, "The Hip Hypnotist" on television. During her final two years on "One Life", Catherine diligently studied the art of hypnosis. After becoming a certified hypnotherapist, and having spent her life in front of the camera and onstage, she took the art and science of hypnosis into entertainment. In 2008, she debuted her show, "The Hypnotist", at the prestigious New World Stages in New York City, and never looked back. Mitch Richmond graduated from Boyd Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, in 1984. He attended Moberly Area Junior College in Missouri for two years before transferring to Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, in 1986. In his two seasons as a Wildcat, Mitch averaged over 20.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest and led his team to the Elite Eight of the 1988 NCAA tournament, where they lost to the University of Kansas, their in-state and in-conference rival who ultimately won the national title. Mitch Richmond played on the 1988 United States men's Olympic basketball squad, earning a bronze medal. Following his Olympic experience, Mitch turned his sights to the National Basketball Association. The Golden State Warriors had selected Mitch with their first-round draft choice, the #5 selection overall. Mitch rewarded the Warriors by having an outstanding first season, culminating in his being named the Rookie of the Year in 1989. In Golden State, he teamed with Chris Mullin and Tim Hardaway to lead a high-scoring offense which earned the nickname Run-TMC, after the first initials of the offensive stars. After playing for Golden State, the Sacramento Kings and the Washington Bullets, Mitch played one final season as a reserve for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2001-2002, garnering an NBA championship ring. Mitch finished his career with a scoring average of 21.0 points per game, with a total of 20,497 points.- Brian Blades is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League.
Blades graduated from Piper High School in Sunrise, Florida in 1983. He attended the University of Miami. He finished his college career with 80 catches for 1,493 yards and 15 TDs. After graduating, Brian was chosen in the 2nd round of the 1988 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Blades spent his entire eleven-year career with the Seahawks, playing for the team from 1988-1998. He signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks prior to the 1999 season, but was cut on June 5, 1999.
Brian Blades is the older brother of former NFL cornerbacks Bennie Blades and Al Blades. He is also the uncle of former University of Pittsburgh and The Washington Redskins linebacker H.B. Following his graduation from the University of Miami, Blades entered the 1988 NFL Draft and spent ten seasons in the NFL. He played for the Detroit Lions from 1988-1996 and the 1997 season with the Seattle Seahawks, teaming up with his older brother, wide receiver Brian Blades, who also played collegiate football at the University of Miami.
During his time with the Lions, Blades was considered one of the most physical defensive backs in the NFL, even playing as a linebacker in certain passing situations toward the end of his career. Blades is widely considered to be one of the greatest defensive backs in Lions' history.
The Lions selected Blades with the third overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft, and he went on to earn NFL All-Rookie honors for the 1988 season. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1991 - in addition to receiving First-Team All-NFL and First-team All-NFC honors. He was the Lions' Defensive MVP in 1992 and led the team with 78 tackles in 1996, which was one of two 100-tackle seasons he had in Detroit.
An underrated professional player, Bennie Blades was a key component to the Lions' defense that helped the team claim two NFC Central titles, and a berth in the 1991 NFC Championship game. American female professional wrestler, bodybuilder and mixed martial artist. Debuted in October 1996 after training under "Chainsaw" Liz Chase, with her first opponent being Joanie Lee (Chyna). Competed for several independent promotions, including Future of Wrestling, the Fabulous Moolah's Ladies International Wrestling Federation, the Ultimate Wrestling Federation and Sunshine Wrestling Federation, winning titles and scoring wins over wrestlers such as Luna Vachon and her own trainer, Liz Chase. She left wrestling for a time to compete in Mixed Martial Arts. Julia moved to Los Angeles from NYC where she earned recognition as Host of a number of infomercials and as on-air Correspondent for many entertainment Web sites with her always stimulating celebrity Red Carpet interviews.
Julia garnered attention and success as an actor in television's Emmy-nominated MOW, "The Flight That Fought Back." More TV roles followed with episodes of "CSI: Cyber", "90210", "After Lately", "Go On" and "Episodes." She played 'Patricia Cochran' (Johnny Cochran's girlfriend) in the highly acclaimed and Emmy winning mini-series, "American Crime Story: The People vs O.J. Simpson." Chris Conrad was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is the third out of four brothers.
Always going for the sports, Chris played football, baseball, wrestled and played rugby.
After graduating high school, enrolled with Florida State University where his two older brothers, Tim and Steve, were also students.
Worked the campus radio while in college, a job he got through his brother Tim, who was the sports broadcaster. The job gave Chris another excellent outlet for his comedy.
Following his sophomore year, Chris moved to Chicago, where his brother Steve had moved to study at the Northwestern University, majoring in creative writing. Chris spent a year studying at the Piven Theatre Workshop then signed with an agent and landed his first acting role in the television movie, Mario and the Mob.
Later, he moved to Hollywood with Steve, who tried to sell his script Wrestling Ernest Hemingway. The screenplay became a very successful movie, and Chris himself started getting more jobs in the movies as well.
He started out with an episode of Raven and then in a small film called Star Food. He's also starring in an improvisational group with a friend, The Stick Men, in Los Angeles.

Jenna Gering began a 15-year career first as a model. She was born Jenna Hudlett, daughter of Jeanne and Fred Hudlett in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on July 6, 1971.
