Award-Winning filmmaker and humanitarian Amy Serrano is the Chief Creative Officer and Director of Siren Films. At Siren Films, she writes, directs, shoots, and produces her own films, and along with her team, manages, produces and consults on the works of others.
To date, Amy's most important work involved shooting, producing, writing and directing the feature-length and critically acclaimed documentary, The Sugar Babies: The Plight of the Children of Agricultural Workers in the Sugar Industry of the Dominican Republic Narrated by renowned Author Edwidge Danticat and composed of field recordings coupled with outside testimony, the film explores the lives of the descendants of the first Africans delivered to the island of Hispaniola for the bittersweet commodity that once ruled the world. Up until recently, these very same people continued to be trafficked from Haiti to the Dominican Republic to work on sugar plantations under circumstances that can only be considered modern day slavery. Besides the awareness created on issues leading to nearly eliminating human trafficking and child labor, the screenings and advocacy surrounding this film led the U.S. Department of Labor to finally place sugar imported from the Dominican Republic on the list of products to be made with forced or child labor.
Amy also wrote, produced, and directed the U.S. co-production for the feature length film MOVE! Produced in Rome, Italy and distributed throughout Film Festivals in Europe, MOVE! is a globally collaborative film composed by 11 filmmakers in 6 continents exploring the dispassionate state of humanity through varied human emotions.

Born in Habana, Cuba, Ana María Polo is the host of renowned Telemundo show "Caso Cerrado", the first Spanish language program nominated for a Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Award, and in 2015 ranked as the number one Spanish-language program at 4pm across key demos. The great success garnered by "Caso Cerrado" motivated Telemundo to bet once again on Polo's talent and last year launched "Caso Cerrado Edición Estelar" (Case Closed Primetime Edition) (M-F 7PM). The program, which premiered in high definition format, allows viewers to witness the popular show's most extraordinary cases and disputes, presented with the same dynamism and energy by which it is characterized.
With more than 20 years of experience as a lawyer, Polo became known to television audiences in 2001 on Telemundo's program "Sala de Parejas" (Couples' Room), where she quickly won over the hearts of viewers. In 2005, "Sala de Parejas" became "Caso Cerrado con la Dra. Ana Maria Polo" (Case Closed with Dr. Ana Maria Polo) (M-F 4PM), a program highlighting lawsuits and legal situations. In addition to hosting the show, Polo also composed and interpreted the theme song of the program, and during the last 10 years she has maintained an undivided connection with the Hispanic community from coast to coast.
In 2010 Polo also launched "Persiguiendo Injusticias"(Pursuing Injustices), an original program that incorporates a new, never before seen format in Hispanic television; and that with the help of the community seeks to go after and help solve crimes that have gone unpunished. This same year she launched her first book, entitled "Querida Dra. Polo Las cartas secretas de Caso Cerrado"(Dear Dr. Polo: The Secret Letters of Cased Closed), based on the letters that were sent to the renowned attorney by television viewers; and which narrate the secret underworld life of thousands of individuals who can no longer distinguish between good and evil. Since its launch on November 2, 2010, the book has been a huge success, maintaining second place in popularity lists in addition to completely selling out its first edition.
During 2011 Polo was honored with the Mickey Leland Humanitarian Achievement Award that honors individuals and organizations affiliated with the communications industry which demonstrate a humanitarian commitment. To close 2011, Polo was named the first Hispanic ambassador for Stand Up To Cancer, joining an esteemed list of national and international celebrity supporters of the initiative, which raises awareness and funds for collaborative cancer research.
As a breast cancer survivor, Polo has become a fighting role model for many women, and works with different organizations that fight to find a cure to this disease. Her commitment to the Hispanic community has also prompted her involvement with various topics of importance to her, including the fight for human rights and against discrimination. On November of 2014 Ana Maria Polo was invited by the Human Rights Organization to participate on their Americans for Marriage Equality video campaign, the first one released with a Hispanic personality, both in Spanish and English.
Before her formal start in television, Polo practiced her profession as a lawyer for more than 20 years in the city of Miami, where she tended to cases of divorce, adoptions, paternities, custodies, child support, alimonies, and domestic violence. One of Hollywood's most private and guarded leading men, Andy Garcia has created iconic characters while at the same time staying true to his acting roots and personal projects.
Garcia was born Andrés Arturo García Menéndez on April 12, 1956, in Havana, Cuba, to Amelie Menéndez, a teacher of English, and René García Núñez, an attorney and avocado farmer. Garcia's family was relatively affluent. However, when he was two years old, Fidel Castro came to power, and the family fled to Miami Beach. Forced to work menial jobs for a while, the family started a fragrance company that was eventually worth more than a million dollars. He attended Natilus Junior High School and later at Miami Beach Senior High School. Andy was a popular student in school, a good basketball player and good-looking. He dreamed of playing professional baseball. In his senior year, though, he contracted mononucleosis and hepatitis, and unable to play sports, he turned his attention to acting.
He studied acting with Jay W. Jensen. Jensen was a South Florida legend, counting among his numerous students, Brett Ratner, Roy Firestone, Mickey Rourke, and Luther Campbell. Following his positive high school experiences in acting, he continued his drama studies at Florida International University.
Soon, he was headed out to Hollywood. His first break came as a gang member on the very first episode of the popular TV series Hill Street Blues (1981). His role as a cocaine kingpin in 8 Million Ways to Die (1986) put him on the radar of Brian De Palma, who was casting for his gangster classic The Untouchables (1987). At first, he envisioned Garcia as Al Capone's sadistic henchman Frank Nitti, but fearing typecasting as a gangster, Garcia campaigned for the role of "George Stone", the Italian cop who gets accepted into Eliot Ness' famous band of lawmen. Garcia's next notable role came in Black Rain (1989) by acclaimed director Ridley Scott, as the partner of police detective Michael Douglas. He then co-starred with Richard Gere in Internal Affairs (1990), directed by Mike Figgis. In 1989, Francis Ford Coppola was casting for the highly anticipated third installment of his "Godfather" films. The Godfather Part III (1990) included one of the most sought-after roles in decades, the hot-headed son of "Sonny Corleone" and mob protégé of "Michael Corloene", "Vincent Mancini". A plum role for any young rising star, the role was campaigned for by a host of actors. Val Kilmer, Alec Baldwin, Vincent Spano, Charlie Sheen, and even Robert De Niro (who wanted the role changed to accommodate his age) were all beaten out by the up-and-coming Garcia. His performance was Oscar-nominated as Best Supporting Actor, and secured him international stardom and a place in cinematic history. Now a leading man, he starred in such films as Jennifer 8 (1992) and Hero (1992). He won raves for his role as the husband of Meg Ryan in When a Man Loves a Woman (1994) and gave another charismatic gangster turn in Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead (1995). He then returned in Night Falls on Manhattan (1996), directed by Sidney Lumet, as well as portraying legendary mobster Lucky Luciano in Hoodlum (1997). In perhaps his most mainstream role, he portrayed a cop in the action film Desperate Measures (1998). Garcia then starred in a few lower-profile projects that didn't do much for his career, but things turned around in 2001, with the first of many projects being his role as a cold casino owner in Ocean's Eleven (2001), directed by Steven Soderbergh. Seeing his removal from Cuba as involuntary, Garcia is proud of his heritage which influences his life and work. One such case is his portrayal of renowned Cuban trumpet player Arturo Sandoval in For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story (2000). He is an extremely private man, and strong believer in old-fashioned chivalry. Married to his wife, Maria Victoria, since 1982, the couple has three daughters. One of the most talented leading men around, Garcia has had a unique career of staying true to his own ideals and thoughts on acting. While some would have used some of the momentum he has acquired at different points in his career to get rich off lightweight projects, Garcia has stayed true to stories and films that aspire to something more. But with a presence and style that never seem old, a respect from directors and film buffs, alike, Andy Garcia will be remembered for a long time in film history.- Angel Cuadra was born on 29 August 1931 in Havana, Cuba. He died on 13 February 2021 in Miami, Florida, USA.

Aram Vidal is a filmmaker born in Cuba. He graduated in Communication at the University of Havana. His work has focused mainly on documentary films, although he has also written and directed fiction and animation.
In his trilogy composed by "De Generación" (Cuba, 2007), "Ex Generación" (Mexico, 2009, and "El pez azul" (Cuba/Mexico, 2017), he addresses Cuba's political and social conflicts, from the perspective of young people and those who have emigrated off the island. His own condition as a migrant (exiled in Mexico since 2009) has led him to explore the theme of identity and personal reconstruction.
A more dreamlike and experimental look marks his short fiction films "Recursivo" (2012), "Relevo (2013) and "Gato" (2016). In these films, originally scripted, he explores in an unusual way topics such as fear, madness and love. In "Gato" he experiments with the use of animated spaces to emphasize the protagonist's disconnection with his reality, while in "Recursivo" he constructs an imaginary location to recreate a dream condemned to repeat itself eternally.
His documentaries and short fiction films have been screened at dozens of festivals around the world, including Clermont-Ferrand Festival, Havana New Filmmmakers Festival (Documentary Award), Gothenburg Festival, Entr'2 Marches at Cannes (Best Fiction Script award), Santiago Alvarez International Festival (Documentary Award), Los Angeles Cinefest, New York Film Week, Amsterdam Film Festival, Miami Independent Film Festival, Rhode Island Film Festival, among others. He has won artistic residencies such as the audiovisual award from the "Fondo de Cultura de México" (FONCA), production support from the "Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional", and art residency at the Swem Media Center in Virginia, US.
