Born on November 19, 1973, Billy was born and raised in Georgia, and has four sisters and two brothers. His mother Donna married his step-father when he was just one and a half years old. Life was not good during his early years, as his step-father had a substance abuse problem which caused constant turmoil to the families life. Nevertheless, it was his step father who introduced Billy to country music. His step father later died of drinking and cancer. As a Junior in high school Billy auditioned at the Opryland USA theme park, even though he did not make it. After graduation he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music. In Nashville he worked in a local pawn shop for less than a year and he returned to his grandmother's house and joined a local country band. After eight months of playing at the Cavalier Lounge, Currington decided to give Music City another shot. In time, he found a lucrative job at a concrete company - 16 hours a day, six days a week - and playing clubs on the side with no time to dream he quit his job and for a new one as a part-time personal trainer so he could truly focus on his music. Currington met Gary Voorhies, a client at the gym who also worked for a music publishing company. The two got to know each other and Gary invited Currington to sing and play some music for him. Not long after that meeting, Billy was signed to Mercury Records Nashville in 2003. His debut single, "Walk a Little Straighter," tells the story of a child watching his drunk father stumbling through the door and vowing not to make that same mistake when he becomes a father. (Currington wrote the chorus at age 12.) His self-titled album was released in 2003. In 2004, he memorably swung from a chandelier in the music video for his duet with Shania Twain, "Party For Two." He parlayed his exposure into a successful second album, Doin' Somethin' Right, in 2005. The first single, "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," reached No. 1 at country radio at the end of 2005. Halfway through 2007, Billy had to cancel his tour dates for the remainder of the year because of laryngitis. Then, later in the year, he underwent treatment for the abuse he suffered as a child. Billy released "Tangled Up" in late 2007, but the song only peaked at No. 30. "Don't" was released in mid-2008 as the first single of his third album, and that song made it all the way to No. 2. His latest album "Little Bit of Everything" was released in October of 2008. Coming across his latest single "People are Crazy" was discovered by currington on a demo CD he found in a recording studio and asked the writer Bobby Braddock if he could have the CD, taking the CD he listened to the songs, that's when he came across the song and called up Bobby and asked if he could record it, but he would have to stand in line with all the other singers who wanted to record it. One day while in the studio ready to record some songs on his album he called Bobby back and asked again if he could just record it and Bobby then called around and called Billy back to tell him he could. After recording the song it reached #1 on the GAC top 20 countdown on July 17,2009 the second song of his to reach #1 and things couldn't be getting any better for this country star.- Soundtrack

Noted for his bravura performances, Charles James Shavers is remembered as one of the most talented and energetic trumpet virtuosos of the big band era. He had music in his blood. His father was an accomplished master of the instrument, as was his older brother. The legendary Fats Navarro (1923-1950) was another relation, albeit a distant one. Charlie began on banjo and piano before being persuaded to switch to trumpet. He first gigged with minor bands in New York and Philadelphia after which followed stints with Tiny Bradshaw (1936), and, briefly, Lucky Millinder (1937). In November 1937, he joined the Sextet of John Kirby at the Onyx Club as arranger and trumpeter. At the time, this organisation was known as 'The Biggest Little Band in the Land', including among its lineup top musicians like Buster Bailey, Billy Kyle and Russell Procope. Shavers stayed for seven years during the heyday of the John Kirby Sextet, composing the jazz standard "Undecided" (which later became a hit for Ella Fitzgerald) and "Pastel Blue" (later reincarnated as "Why Begin Again", following the addition of lyrics).
In 1944, Charlie left Kirby and worked for a spell as a session musician with Raymond Scott's orchestra at CBS. In February 1945, he was hired by Tommy Dorsey as regular trumpet soloist, remaining on and off for the next eleven years (he was, actually, the first African-American musician to work in Dorsey's band). Charlie affectionately nicknamed his boss 'the wonderful tyrant'. During the 1950's and 60's, Charlie played in, led or co-led smaller groups, recorded with Nat 'King' Cole and Buddy Rich and toured with Norman Granz's Jazz at the Philharmonic. He performed extensively in Europe (for the final time in 1970), as well touring Japan, Hong Kong, Canada and South America. Adept at all genres of mainstream jazz (but very much averse to 'free jazz'), he made a number of successful records as a solo artist. His own personal favorite among his albums was "Shavers, Gershwin And Strings", released in June 1955 by Bethlehem Records with arrangements by Sy Oliver. A popular personality with audiences and fellow musicians alike, Charlie died of throat cancer in July 1971 at the untimely age of 50.- Cheryl Haworth was born on 18 April 1983 in Savannah, Georgia, USA.

Clay Chappell was born on 18 February 1969 in Savannah, Georgia, USA. He is an actor and producer, known for Footloose (2011), Selma (2014) and My Demon (2009).- Clinton Cowart has emerged as one of the most noticeable up-and-coming actors in Savannah, Georgia, developing an acting portfolio in stage, screen, dramatic, and comical roles. Cowart was born on November 17, 1970, in Savannah, Georgia, to a musician, pool builder, and NASCAR driver, Delma Cowart, and bank teller, Dale Brown. Clinton and his older sister, Denise Cowart, were in and out of clinics and hospitals during the early years of their childhood. The long bouts of isolation in the various clinics and hospitals during Cowart's early years gave him an innate attraction toward large crowds and an aversion to anti-social environments. Conceived from a family of musicians and dancers, Cowart began singing in chorus all the way from elementary and middle school through high school and college. Like his grandfather (Clinton "Red" Cowart), Cowart picked up the violin as his instrument of preference but later decided on the bass guitar. Although, unlike his mother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he just did not belong in the musical world. The stage is where Clinton felt alive and in his element.
Born to die (he lived to triumph against all odds), he emerged into a world of bleak possibilities, only to gradually overcome insurmountable odds. He was born with pre-existing conditions (being handicap), which included a rare genetic abnormality, multiple sclerosis, cirrhosis of the liver, a cleft palate, and partial paralysis. However, through sheer determination, he has overcome every obstacle, including healing from the partial paralysis and eventually learning to walk. In addition to dealing with his handicap on a daily basis, Cowart also won a decade-long battle against the local board of education, allowing him to participate in a normal classroom instead of a class where both mentally and physically handicapped students received the same education-it consisted mostly of color sheets and counting from one to ten. In order to achieve this, Cowart learned how to read and master other scholastic subjects at a competent skill level in only three months-a test which the board expected him to fail as their wish on him was for him not to attend public school. Although a few years behind his peers in school, Cowart succeeded in his struggle and went on to graduate from high school.
Cowart started in Elementary school as a dramatic arts student and quickly immersed himself in singing and dancing as soon as he gained the ability to walk. His first theatre experience was in 1980 in a role as Little Boy Blue in "Babes in Toyland." In 1981, Cowart was an extra on the set of the CBS movie, "When The Circus Came To Town" starring Elizabeth Montgomery. Cowart displayed his versatility in 1981 when he performed as Nanki-Po in Gilbert and Sullivan's comedic musical, "The Mikado." He surprised audiences as Nanki-Po with his second soprano singing range. A decade later, in 1991, Cowart returned to the theatre as Carl Lloyd in "Agatha Christie Made Me Do It." The Chatham County Board of Education applauded his theatre performances and awarded him the 1991 William C. Harris Scholarship for a graduating senior with handicaps.
After establishing a name for himself in the theatre, Cowart walked away from acting in 1991 to pursue a liberal arts education at Armstrong State University focusing on musical performance and composition. In 1998, Cowart severed his ties with the arts to delve into the world of technology where he obtained a computer degree from Georgia Southern University. The nature of the technology world proved to be too isolated for Cowart; he found himself craving more human interaction and the field of human resource management caught his attention in this regard. It was in the field of HR that Cowart felt his knowledge of employment law combined with his unique life experiences providing him with an edge in becoming a positive force for change in the workforce environment. In 2010, Cowart received his master's degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University. As time passed, Cowart realized that he craved more than just human interaction; the stage and camera whose siren song he kept experiencing was what he longed for.
After a self-imposed exile for more than two decades, Cowart returned to the stage in 2015 as not one, but two characters, Gabe and Arthur, in The Shoestring Theatre Company's rendition of "The Stupidest Angel." A short while after this performance, Cowart was approached to play a small cameo as a cult follower in the 2016 short titled "Celestial." That same year, Cowart joined The Richmond Hill Community Theatre's production of "Robin Hood" as Arthur-a-Bland. Subsequently, he appeared in several scenes as an extra in episodes 4 and 5 of season 2 on the television show, "Underground." He then took on the 2016 role of a comedic character, Judge I. L. Hangum, in the play, "Fairy Tale Courtroom." Cowart had audiences rolling on the floor with laughter as the frat boy, Beau, in the 2017 short, "Not It" and in awe as devilish and manipulative Dorian Flare in the 2017 web episode, "Abandon All Hope" season 1 from the web series "They All Have Stories." After that, he played Kenneth in the 2017 short student television pilot "Patience." In May of that year, Cowart played an over-the-top Inspector Fuller in the play, "The Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery" and was interviewed for a short web documentary, "Actor's Life." Due to his outgoing presence, Cowart was hand-picked to play Mr. Pool for the short film "Crushess." Finally, after taking on good guy and comedic roles, Cowart decided to try out a role in horror in the short film, "Bloody Thoughts." Cowart is still active in the theatre as well as on television and in film. - Clinton Dangerfield was born on 19 February 1872 in Savannah, Georgia, USA. Popular dark-haired "Big Band" singer Connie Haines may have been petite in size (less than 5' tall) but she possessed a sturdy set of pipes to compensate and was adored by her large fan base during the swinging war years. Performing alongside Frank Sinatra in both the Harry James and Tommy Dorsey bands way back when, she was known for her cool, doll-like vocals, quivery vibrato, and zesty, rhythmic stylings -- 25 of her more than 200 recordings, including "Let's Get Away From It All" and "Friendship", sold more than 50,000 copies. Other classic singles from Connie ranged from the torchy stylings of "Stormy Weather" and "My Man" to the cooing innocence of "Snooty Little Cutie" and "Shoo Fly Pie and Apple Pan Dowdy" to the hep and swinging "Let's Choo Choo Choo to Idaho".
She was born Yvonne Marie Antoinette JaMais on January 20, 1921 in Savannah, Georgia, but changed her name to the peppier-sounding Connie Haines to take up less space on the theater marquee at the time she joined Harry James' band. She grew up in Jacksonville, Florida (from age 5) and started to perform at the encouragement of her mother, who was a music and dance teacher. Winning a dance contest, she went on to perform for various Rotary and Kiwanis clubs and, by age 9, was known on radio as "Baby Yvonne Marie, the Little Princess of the Air" while being backed by her own 30-piece orchestra. Around that time, she also fought a near-fatal bout with rheumatic fever.
Winning more talent contests along the way she evolved into a teen sensation and performed on Fred Allen's radio show. At age 18, she hooked up with Harry James before joining Tommy Dorsey's outfit in 1940. During that period, she and Sinatra duoed famously on such songs as "Oh, Look at Me Now" and "You Might Have Belonged to Another". By 1942, Connie had landed a regular singing gig with the Abbott and Costello radio show. She was such a hit that her 13-week contract was extended to 4 years. She found herself in demand on all the popular radio shows of the day -- Kay Kyser, Hoagy Carmichael and Skitch Henderson, to name but a few.
It was wartime and Connie, along with many of the other popular vocalists of her day, treated film audiences to specialty numbers in a number of fun, frivolous musicals that were primarily designed as escapist fare or patriotic morale-boosters. In both Moon Over Las Vegas (1944) and Twilight on the Prairie (1944), she sang songs alongside prolific singer/songwriter (and later popular adult "Mousketeer") Jimmie Dodd. In the latter, a musical western, she was even given a co-starring role. In A Wave, a WAC and a Marine (1944), she sang "Time Will Tell" and "Gee, I Love My G.I. Joe" and in the Van Johnson/Esther Williams starrer Duchess of Idaho (1950), in which she again had an acting role, she contributed a fine version of "Of All Things".
Connie's last film appearance was in the romantic musical short Birth of a Band (1954) in which she warbled the classic standards "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" and "I've Got the World on a String". A highly religious woman, she teamed with singer Beryl Davis and Hollywood icons Jane Russell and Rhonda Fleming during the 1950s in a gospel quartet. They scored a hit with the 1954 song "Do Lord".
Connie continued performing for decades in nightclubs, cabarets and revivals despite a number of life-threatening illnesses/injuries which included a bout with cancer (for which she had a double mastectomy in 1984) and a 2002 car accident that left her with two broken vertebrae in her neck. She finally retired in 2006 at age 85. During her career, she performed for Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Ronald Reagan and George Bush.
The "Nightingale from Savannah" was married and divorced twice. Her first was to WWII flying ace Robert De Haven in 1945. That marriage produced a son (Robert Jr.) and a daughter (Kimberly). Her subsequent marriage to popular bandleader Del Courtney (1910-2006) lasted from 1966 to 1972. Connie died in Clearwater, Florida, at age 87 of myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune neruomuscular disease. She was survived by her children and the one woman who influenced her the most -- her mother and manager, Mildred, who was 109 at the time of Connie's death on September 22, 2008.- Conrad Aiken was born on 5 August 1889 in Savannah, Georgia, USA. In the 1930s and 1940s she was a well-known vocalist and actress.
Cristola first appeared on the Broadway stage in productions "Sailor Beware!," "Satellite," "Walk Together Chillun," and "Brown Sugar" with top-notch performers of her time including herself. She went on to star in two important race films, now known as Black Cinema. In "Sunday Sinners" and "Murder on Lenox Ave," she gave memorable performances as the always loyal, stand by her man type. She was a dramatic, emotional actress yet pleasant who was great in dramas. She had an Ann Harding type of approach to acting, Cristola always wore her heart for all to see, her face could tell a story without words spoken. Her portrayals of long-suffering, scorned women were believable and impressive. She wasn't a turn off or pathetic because of her "sad, scorned" roles, she held ultimate grace but knew how to tug at the heart strings of audiences.
On top of all that, she had an amazing singing voice, her clarity and diction was superb. In her singing, she also knew how to touch people, as she could make one feel she was singing directly to them and could bring a tear into your eyes. She could rival Helen Morgan in stopping people in their tracks and making the hardest people warm up to her.
Cristola Williams was excellent when it came to touching people's hearts and souls with her heart and soul. One could only guess what type of a life she had for her to gain such deep feelings and emotions in her youth but it worked in her favor and gained her popularity in her time. - Script and Continuity Department
