Andres Ramirez is a Mexican independent filmmaker. While growing passionate about the world of cinema with movies and literature, Andres started writing short stories at a young age. While he was in high school in Monterrey, Mexico, he started his filmmaking career shooting short films and music videos. At this point, writing and filmmaking became more prominent in his life. With the ambition to get an education at one of the leading US film schools, he studied a one-year program at Vancouver Film School to gain more experience. In Canada, he wrote, directed, and produced "Why?" (2016) and "Frame" (2017). With the latest one, he received numerous awards. "Frame" was presented at the Cannes Short Film Corner in 2018, and he is currently looking for distribution for it. Eventually, he went on to study Film and TV Production at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. At the end of 2019, he started a festival circuit run for his two more recent short films, "Shutter" and "From Charlie, with Love," which have also received numerous awards. While he is passionate about filming and experienced with 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm, Andres also likes experimenting with different formats. He is currently in post-production for his first VR project, "Scars and Voices: A VR Experience." Andres graduated from NYU in 2022. He is working on his next short film in collaboration with contemporary dancer Jayde Margulis, "World Needs You." He also has several projects under his radar and looks forward to filming his independent films while collaborating with other filmmakers around the world.- Juan Pablo Velasco was born on 19 August 2013 in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. Mexico, 1993. Director, screenwriter and editor. Graduated from Escuela Veracruzana de Cine Luis Buñuel. He completed an editing diploma at the International Film and TV School in Cuba and a screenplay workshop at the Film Training Center in Mexico City. He has experience as a jury at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (2016) and the Bogotá International Film Festival (2018). He has collaborated in curatorship and programming in the independent cinema Cinema Nahual, and in Kiltro Cinema. His productions have been screened and recognized in several countries. His short film "Gratification" (2020), has been selected and awarded in more of 50 international film festivals. His next projects are in development: a short film entitled "Old Well" (semi-finalist in the Mexican script competition of Shorts México, 2022) and his first feature film, a story presented as a tightrope between realism and surrealism.- Writer
