An Oberstleutnant in the Luftwaffe, "Pips" Priller was a fighter pilot who flew over three hundred sorties and claimed over one hundred Allied kills, including sixty-eight Spitfires. As portrayed in "The Longest Day" [qv], on the first day of the Normandy invasion, Priller and his wingman Heinz Wodarczyk, flew over Omaha Beach and strafed the attacking force. This was the only documented action of the Luftwaffe on D-Day. After the war, Priller managed a brewery.- Hilde Schneider was born on 24 November 1914 in Baden-Baden, Germany. She was an actress, known for Pretty Miss Schragg (1937), Silence of the Forest (1937) and Gastspiel im Paradies (1938). She died on 20 May 1961 in Berlin, Germany.
