She died on 6 November 2002 in Los Angeles, California, USA.- Maria Johansson, born in the village of Ånimskog, Dalsland, in 1918, was a Swedish street musician preacher, best known as Maria's one-man-band/en-mans-orkester. She played tirelessly at Sergels torg, a square in the absolute center of Stockholm, from the fall of 1972 till her death in 2002. Maria Johansson's mission was to perform free ecclesiastical Christian songs, hymns and chorales accompanying herself on the electric organ and piano. She recorded several albums and cassettes, wrote lyrics and pamphlets. Maria Johansson suffered from cancer and passed away in 2002.
