Melody Patterson was born on April 16, 1949 in Inglewood, California. She started performing at the age of four, appearing in "Mrs. McThing" at the Downey Community Theatre in Downey, California. She attended the Hollywood Professional School and later studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. The television series F Troop (1965) launched her career, and the world will always affectionately remember the character Wrangler Jane, who had a thing for stray critters and Captain Wilton Parmenter. Her career as a television and movie actress was far too short, but her love for acting and the theatre has kept her involved. Jay spent his childhood in Arlington, VA growing up an only child, traveling the world with his mother and father, a U.S. Federal Employee. His parents once owned a home on Mallorca, Spain where he spent many a summer. He attended The College of William & Mary, but left before graduating to pursue a career in film. He once dated Glenn (Wade) Close's roommate while in college. He resided in Toluca Lake, CA and for many years headed a weekly meeting of the "Chowder Society" and "Starving Science Fiction Writer's Society." He was employed at Warner Bros Studios for over 20 years, and retired.
