- David Matthews joined the AFL in 1998 after previously working with the Geelong Football League and the Victorian Country Football League. He was AFL Auskick and Participation Manager for five years before being appointed to the AFL Executive as General Manager of Game Development in 2004. In 2010, he was appointed as AFL General Manager, National and International Development, based in Sydney and played a leading role in the early stages of the GIANTS' development, including the signing of Kevin Sheedy as senior coach, the recruitment of Queensland and Australian rugby league representative Israel Folau and the appointment of Graeme Allan as General Manager of Football Operations. He was appointed GWS CEO in 2012.
- Heath Shaw has carved out a fine career in defence since debuting in late 2005 for Collingwood. His leadership and hard-nosed approach make him one of the best big game performers. Shaw joined the GIANTS ahead of the 2014 season as part of a trade with former GIANT Taylor Adams. Shaw was named as a club Vice-Captain in early 2014. He went on to earn back-to-back All Australian accolades in 2015-2016. One of the club's veterans, Shaw also works with the AFLW team in a coaching capacity. In 2019, Shaw achieved the rare feat of playing his 300th AFL game.
- Hailing from Leeton in Southern NSW, GIANTS Academy graduate Jacob Hopper is a midfielder who's built a reputation as one of the toughest young midfielders in the AFL. Hopper debuted in his first season at the elite level, earning a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination for his impressive debut game. Hopper enjoyed his first injury-free pre-season heading into the 2019 season and took a significant midfield role in the absence of Dylan Shiel.
- Josh Kelly began his football career as an Auskicker at East Brighton in Melbourne's south-east before being drafted at pick two in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft. Kelly is the son of Phil Kelly, who played 61 games as a wingman for North Melbourne in the 1980s and won two Sandover Medals in the WAFL. He won the GIANTS Rising Star Award in his first season and become a mainstay of the GIANTS midfield in just a few short years. Kelly was elevated into the club's official leadership group ahead of the 2017 season in just his fourth year in the AFL, and after a stunning 2017 season was named vice-captain in 2018.
- Originating form local Sydney Club Pennant Hills, Lenny Hayes was a stand out performer for the St Kilda Football Club over a 297-game career. He was awarded All Australian Honours on three occasions and won the Norm Smith Medal for Best on Ground in the AFL Grand Final in his team's drawn final against Collingwood in 2010. Hayes captained St Kilda in the 2004 and 2007 seasons. Renowned for his tremendous work ethic and exceptional tackling skills, Hayes was a favorite with the St Kilda supporters as the heart and soul of his team. After his retirement as a player in 2014, Hayes spent a year working with the AFL on a number of projects before accepting a role as an Assistant Coach with the GIANTS from 2016 onwards.
- Leon Cameron is a former Footscray and Richmond footballer and the current Senior Coach of the GIANTS. Cameron played 256 AFL games between 1990 and 2003 after being recruited from South Warrnambool Football Club with pick 7 in the 1988 National Draft. After retiring, Cameron joined the Western Bulldogs as an Assistant Coach from 2004 to 2010 under Peter Rohde and Rodney Eade. Cameron joined Hawthorn as an Assistant Coach in September 2010 and was part of the coaching staff that took the Hawks to the 2012 Grand Final. Cameron joined the GIANTS for the 2013 season as Senior Assistant Coach to Kevin Sheedy in his final year and took over as Senior Coach at the end of 2013, leading the GIANTS to their first finals appearance in 2016. He has led the GIANTS to the finals in four of the past five seasons, including the 2019 AFL Grand Final.
- Matt de Boer was drafted to Fremantle in the 2009 rookie draft with Fremantle's second selection, number 19 overall. After displaying good form during the 2009 pre-season, he was elevated to Fremantle's senior list as a nominated rookie and made his debut in the Western Derby in round 6, 2009. De Boer played 138 games for the Dockers over eight seasons and was named Best Clubman in 2010 and 2011. De Boer joined the GIANTS with pick 58 in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft. His exceptional leadership was recognised in 2018 as he was added to the club's leadership group.
- Nick Haynes was drafted to the GIANTS with pick seven in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft. The former Dandenong Stingrays forward made his debut in round 10, 2012 playing through the midfield and up forward. Haynes has great agility, takes a good overhead mark and shows very good running and aerobic capacity. A switch to the backline proved a turning point for Haynes who has gone on to cement himself as a key member of the GIANTS' defence, playing a crucial role in all four of the GIANTS finals campaigns. His brilliant form in 2019 was recognised when he was named in the initial 40-player Virgin Australia All Australian squad.
- Journeyman Sam Reid first began his AFL career in 2008 after being drafted to the Western Bulldogs. He played 10 games for the club before joining the GIANTS as an uncontracted player in 2011. Injuries limited him to 14 games in his two seasons at the club and persistent shoulder issues forced him into retirement at the end of 2013. Reid remained at the club as a Development Coach and captained the NEAFL side. After two years of strong performances in the NEAFL, Reid was placed on the GIANTS' rookie list ahead of the 2016 season. Reid has taken full advantage of his second chance, playing 66 games across four seasons.
- Stephen Coniglio grew up in Perth and as a teenager had to choose between pursuing a career in cricket or football. Choosing football has worked out well for him so far, with the popular team-mate becoming one of the most highly rated midfielders in the AFL. In early December, 2019 Coniglio was appointed captain. Off-field, Coniglio is a part-owner of Macelleria restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne and has a keen interest in fashion.
