Described by top film critic Mark Kermode as an "unbelievably versatile" actor, Jamie Bell was born in 1986 in Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England, UK, to Eileen (Matfin) and John Bell, a toolmaker. He comes from a family of dancers including his grandmother, mother, aunt, and sister. It was at his sister's dance practices that he would stand outside the door and imitate the movements of the dancers inside. At age six, he was encouraged to step inside the door and, thus, his dance career began. His own story parallels that of Billy Elliot (2000) in that Jamie kept his dancing a secret from his friends at school. His mother had him when she was 16 and, unfortunately, he never knew his father.
When he met Stephen Daldry, director of Billy Elliot (2000), Jamie adopted him as his father. Once the word about his dancing got out, he was harassed, but this only made him more determined to prove that dancing wasn't just for girls. He has proven a lot by landing the title role of Billy Elliot (2000), winning the role in an audition that included more than 2,000 boys from the northeast of England. His ensuing performance certainly justified the selection since he has not only won the hearts of moviegoers all over the world, he has also been nominated for and won a number of awards, including a Best Newcomer Award and then a Best Male Performance at the BAFTA awards.- Actor

She booked her first commercial at just six years old, and landed her feature film debut appearing as Angela Basset's daughter in the classic "Waiting to Exhale." As she started her career in film and television, Jazz's talents in dance were also accelerating as she joined the prestigious Joe Tremaine Teen Dance Company at eight years old lead by Michael Rooney and Marguerite Derricks. Better known for her scandalous private life than for her mild film input, the story goes that blonde, extremely well-endowed Dolores Moran was checked out at an annual Sacramento Elks Lodge picnic in 1941 by a Warner Brothers talent scout in the early 40s and a starlet was born.
Born in Stockton, California in 1926, this bombshell looker, a one-time drive-in car hop, had started collecting beauty titles as a teen ("Queen of the Butte County Fair") by the time the major studio took notice of her and signed her up. The studio immediately promoted the darker-haired-now-platinum blonde as a WWII pin-up and her cover-girl appearances on magazines became a favorite with GI soldiers. Beginning in 1942, she would start out as set decoration (including Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942)) and would typically be utilized in small, decorative film parts. She achieved a bit of distinction, or perhaps distraction, in a couple of larger roles -- Bette Davis and Miriam Hopkins' tearjerker Old Acquaintance (1943), Bogie and Bacall's To Have and Have Not (1944), and Jack Benny's The Horn Blows at Midnight (1945).
Moran's reputation of having affairs with married film heavyweights had already preceded her by the time the 22-year-old began dating 42-year-old producer Benedict Bogeaus, who was married to starlet Mimi Forsythe at the time. Bogeaus divorced his wife and married Moran in late 1946. Two years later Dolores bore him a son. Sadly, in 1952, Bogeaus' former wife committed suicide.
Secondary roles followed for Moran with Too Young to Know (1945) and the film noir The Man I Love (1946). Dolores first worked with her producer/husband in the film Christmas Eve (1947). Her film career sagged after that as her Svengali-like husband insisted she appear strictly in his pictures from Johnny One-Eye (1950) and Count the Hours! (1953) to her last role as a burlesque queen in Silver Lode (1954), often giving her roles that showed off her "bad girl" image. In between she appeared on TV: "Dangerous Assignment," "My Hero" and Mr. & Mrs. North".
The turbulent marriage of Dolores and Benedict finally came to an end in 1962. Moran decided to lay low after this and, as such, little was heard about her until newspapers reported her death from cancer at age 56 in 1982.- Mark Stobbart was born in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England, UK. He is known for Line of Duty (2012), The Devil Outside (2018) and The Silence (2010).
- Tall, graceful and willowy, with a shapely, slender figure, lengthy straw blonde hair, very precise and delicate facial features, quite solid and capable acting skills, a bright, sunny, upbeat persona, and, most refreshingly, a strong, durable, take-charge attitude, the strikingly statuesque Margaret Markov made a potent and positive impression in a handful of TV shows and 1970s drive-in exploitation movies, in which she was usually cast as a very willful, resourceful and self-sufficient heroine. Born in Stockton, California in 1948, Markov's acting career began in 1969: she has a small uncredited bit part as a vacuous college coed in The Sterile Cuckoo (1969) and a much bigger and showier supporting role as a sweet, innocent teenage girl who runs afoul of a brutish biker gang in Jack Starrett's superior Run, Angel, Run! (1969). Markov went on to portray one of the titular sexy young ladies in Roger Vadim's Pretty Maids All in a Row (1971), then tackled a far better and meatier starring part in the exciting women-in-prison romp, The Hot Box (1972), where Markov truly shines as "Lynn Forrest," the most passionate and dedicated of a trio of beleaguered nurses who escape from a foul, dingy, hellish Filipino penitentiary and join forces with a band of jungle-dwelling guerrilla fighters, who are trying to overthrow their country's current fascistic government regime.
Markov masterfully maintained the career momentum, beget by "The Hot Box," with her fantastic fiery performance as "Bodicia," an understandably embittered slave who's forced by her gross, sybaritic Roman captures to engage in brutal to-the-death gladiatorial combat with her fellow female prisoners in the excellent and exciting "Spartacus" variant, The Arena (1974). Fed up with being horribly mistreated by her cruel masters, Markov teams up with Pam Grier and, together, they get the other slaves to make a stand against the evil Romans. Markov and Grier proved to be a delightfully dynamic distaff duo who were seemingly conceived in 70s drive-in trash movie heaven, displaying a natural chemistry and sex appeal that was a true treat to watch. Markov starred again with Grier in the equally thrilling and enjoyable "The Defiant Ones" copy, Black Mama White Mama (1973), in which Markov's rugged revolutionary finds herself chained to Grier's brassy, jaded prostitute; the pair escape from prison and go on the lam. Besides her film credits, Markov also did guest spots on the television programs Hawkins (1973), The Sixth Sense (1972), The Jimmy Stewart Show (1971) and Cade's County (1971). Alas, following her appearance in the obscure and little seen movie, There Is No 13 (1974), Margaret abruptly stopped acting. Margaret Markov is married to hugely successful producer Mark Damon (she first met Damon during the shooting of The Arena (1974)); the couple have two children and reside in a mansion in Los Angeles, California. - Stunts

Born in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham in 1888, he became interested in astronomy at school and carried on his research work in this direction after he had finished his nightly stage entertainments. He was first "on the air" in 1922 and his then comedy sketches of "St. Michaels School" (of which he was the headmaster) proved to be one of the most popular comedy characters on radio at that time. This character was transferred to film and became equally successful. He worked at Elstree Studios, then Gainsborough, then Ealing; the Gainsborough period was the most consistently successfully, particularly when he worked with the team of Marcel Varnel (director), Val Guest and Marriott Edgar (writers), and Moore Marriott and Graham Moffatt (supporting cast). By the time he made his first film, he was in his mid forties and his last role came less than a decade later. Between 1934 and 1943, he was a prolific and popular film comedian. He was credited on several films as a writer or co-ordinator, and was arguably the dominant 'author' of all the films in which he appeared, in that they were built around his persona and depended on the character and routines he had developed over years on the stage.- Jo McDonnell was born on 16 May 1950 in Stockton, California, USA.
