- Kamla and Mahapatra live a wealthy lifestyle in a small village in India. They are bereft of any children, they pray to Bhagwan Shree Indra and are blessed with a male child, Raghu. The Astrologer preparing his Janam Kundali (astrological chart) tells them that Raghu will grow up to be an atheist. Alarmed, Mahapatra ensures that Raghu is brought up in a strict Hindu religious background. But Raghu is won over by the four temptations Lobh, Madh, Kaam, and Krodh and becomes an atheist and continues to be one even when he is fully matured. Anapurna, his childhood sweetheart attempts to get him to be a believer, and even marries him for this purpose, albeit in vain. Then one day Raghu walks away from her life, leaving her uncle, Gangadhar, to arrange her wedding with wealthy Kishan, but she refuses. Gangadhar then approaches the Maharaja, who initially decides to oppose Gangadhar's plans, but starts to lust after Anapurna when he himself gets possessed by Kaam. Anil and Madan Puri are equal partners in an architect firm and live in a palatial bungalow . Rehana soon gets involved in her homely duties and starts liking Anil after some innocent teasing and bantering . He, in turn likes Radha who is his college mate. Rehana sacrifices her feelings when both Anil and Radha get married. Once Radha comes to live with them, as shes very close friends with Rehana , she gets to know about her Friend's feelings for her husband .Felling guilty she feigns some accident and starts using a wheel chair, starts squabbling with Anil to distance herself from him. Meanwhile Rehana starts writing a serial in the local magazine mirroring her own life which becomes very famous . A lot of misunderstandings take place between Anil , Radha and Rehana finally Rehana decides to leave house and stays with Kamini kaushal ( in her small glam role as the mag editor) . Its time for her to end her novel. Upon the ill advice of Mehmood ( Anil's friend ) that all great romances have at least one death like Laila Majnu or Romeo Juliet , she decides to end her life and also give the same logic to her character in her novel. By the time they realize this , its too late and she dies in the end . A very sad and poignant ending . Kamini Kushal looks regal in her silks and sun glasses as the magazine editor . The parallel story between Dhumal and Mehmood invokes many laughs .Votes16

- A wealthy man, Amarnath, witnesses a fight between two men, and watches one kill the other. He comes to the assistant of the killer, Vijay Kumar, assists him so that he can re-establish himself, as well as disposes off the body. Vijay is very grateful to him, and is willing to do anything for him. All Amarnath wants him to do is to woo and marry a crippled young bank employee by the name of Aarti Mathur. Vijay agrees to do so, and successfully woos not only Aarti but her entire family, and soon both get married. Aarti is able to walk again, much to her family's delight. Then Amarnath asks Vijay to seek Aarti's cooperation in looting the bank where she works or else he will expose his crime to the police. A shaken Vijay confides in Aarti and both reluctantly agree to rob the bank. The robbery takes place successfully, but Aarti is sure that the police suspect her, and she is worried. Amarnath then asks Vijay to kill Aarti so as to get rid of an unnecessary witness. The question is will Vijay agree to kill his wife, or will he let himself be arrested for murder? The title song "Dil se miley dil..." and "Yeh naina yeh kajal, yeh julfey yeh aanchal, khubsoorat si ho tum ghazal...." continue to be very popular.Votes21

Then romance enters Ravi's life in the shape and form of Radha, who lives a wealthy lifestyle in Delhi. Both fall in love with each other, Ravi introduces her to his dad, who instantly approves. Then Ravi is invited to visit Delhi to meet Radha's aunt, and it is here that Ravi will come to know Radha's aunt is none other than Neena herself, and he will find out that Radha was merely an attractive bait to lure him and force him to live with his biological mother.Votes22

Angry for disrupting her brother's marriage, Sarju sends Kundan with an acid bottle to throw it on Raju but Sohan saves Raju and loses his eyes. The incident unites the entire family again.Votes24
- Cousins and avowed bachelors, Nath and Gautam, plan a trip to Bombay with the sole motto of entertainment, fun and frolic. Disappoi- nted at the outset the couple later seek civil marriage and one fine day Nath and Gautam face each other in their true colours, the brides occupying the places of their secrets. For a while it seemed that the cousins had embarked on a happy married life, but the conspiracy of the villainous Mama wrecked their homes. A situation is created where the better halves Vijay and Seema abandon Nath and Gautam, taking the two fake imposters to be their real wives. And then begins the drama of hilarious comedy and tense suspense with the Mama and Hanuman Prashad, the notorious secretary of the chawl in which Nath and Gautam had their apartments, at the helm of affairs. And as though to add fuel to the fire Choudhary, Nath's father and Gautam's uncle, appears on the scene furiously demanding the accounts from the wrestlers.Votes24

- Yogita reminds us of Rekha in many scenes. She is a pretty adolescent daughter of a middle class family. She has a continued affair for a short time with her own Gardner starting on a stormy night. He dies suddenly in a freak accident leaving her emotionally scarred. This is carried by her for a long time. She refuses to befriend or marry any man . She meets many men like Sujit Kumar who try to exploit her after befriending her. Anil Dhawan , her psychiatrist slowly understands her and supports her. They marry in the end after over coming all problems. Yogita is perfect as the innocent gullible college girl. Anil is likable in any role , as a confused lover, as a confident psychiatrist - even when he is sizzling , dancing , prancing with his former girl friends by a roaring fire side. Kabir Bedi with his great height and figure is aptly cast in his small role as the Gardner. he has no dialogues but speaks with his eyes . Over all , a very relevant movie even today .Votes26

- Mohini Saxena is the only child in the Saxena household, which consists of her Professor dad, Kishanlal, and bed-ridden, ailing mom. She is a medical student, quite free-willed, and friendly with everyone, including young men. And it is for this reason that she has a fainting spell, which when diagnosed results in a pregnancy. Kishanlal is devastated, all the more when his wife finds out and dies suddenly. Alone, and with a pregnant daughter, who is expelled from college, Kishanlal attempts to find out who the father is, for Mohini has decided not to reveal the name of the father. Is he their neighbor's son, Bipin Bose with whom Mohini was quite friendly with? Or is he, Ravi Kumar Mehra, the son of wealthy Amarchand Mehra, Kishanlal's business partner, with whom Mohini spent quite a few romantic moments? or is it some other young man that Mohini has been seeing on the sly. Watch what transpires as the hapless Kishanlal attempts to plead with Mehras and Boses' in an attempt to ensure a better future for his now black-listed, visibly pregnant, daughter.Votes28
- Widowed by his wife's sudden passing, Superintendent of Police Choudhry brings up his son Rajesh on his own, teaches him all known good values, and when he grows up sends him to College in Bombay, and remits money to him regularly. Choudhry would like to transfer to Bombay Police, so that he can be close to his son, then one day out of the blue, his transfer is approved, and a delighted Choudhry writes to his son to fetch him from the railway station. Upon arrival in Bombay, he does not find his son at the Railway Station, but when browsing through a newspaper he sees his son's photograph--wanted for the murder of a card-sharp. Shocked and dismayed, Choudhry attempts to piece his life together and attempts to find Rajesh before the City Police do--for he may well face the death sentence. Choudhry does find him, but only after Rajesh is accused of killing a woman named Kishori, and this time Choudhry is quite sure that there is no hope for Rajesh.Votes30
- Thakur is a wealthy, principled, and punctual man, who will not tolerate anything, even music in his palatial home. Thakur's only motto in life is money, and each and every second is spent on making and earning money. His elder son, Amar Kumar rebels against this, and is warned. But Amar does not heed this warning, and falls in love with a poor gypsy girl, Jyoti, and both elope in order to escape the wrath of his dad. Thakur second son, Pawan Kumar, is sent away abroad so that there are no lingering bad influences on his life. Years later, Pawan returns home, and is the exact cold-hearted and arrogant image as his dad. Amar and his wife give birth to a son, and Amar writes to his dad to forgive him. Shortly thereafter the couple pass away, leaving their son, with Jyoti's sister, Dilruba. Thakur decides to forgive his late son and asks Pawan to go and bring his grandson home. Pawan sets forth to get his nephew, with the help of MGM, and meets a host of less-than-fortunate people. His attitude does not get him anywhere with Dilruba and he is forced to assume another identity, that of Aashiq, to try and get his nephew home. He does succeed in pulling wool over Dilruba's eyes and both eventually fall in love with each other - little knowing that his dad has already planned his marriage with wealthy Meenakshi and if he refuses he may suffer the same fate as Amar.Votes30

After a struggle Vidya is able to shake him off and run away - out from the house - into the street, where she is hit by a speeding vehicle. She is taken to hospital by the owner of the vehicle, Advocate Sunil Kapoor, where she finds out that she has lost her vision. Traumatized with the accident, unable to see, and locate her missing brother, Vidya is devastated, There is no visible sign of anybody coming to assist her. Will Vidya and Raja ever meet again? - Bharat Prasad Sharma lives a middle-class lifestyle along with his brother in a small town in India. His brother falls in love with Saraswati and both get intimate. A frustrated Bharat volunteers to go under cover and expose Dharam. He rents a room with John Fernandes, falls in love with co-tenant, Prabha, and marries her. With Prabha and John's help he gathers enough evidence to arrest Dharam little knowing that Prabha has a secret she kept from him - namely that she was in love with Dharam's goon, Mahesh, who is secretly blackmailing her and now wants her to hand over all evidence to him.Votes34
