- Seven chosen mages and their summoned heroic spirits fight against each other to try and win the Holy Grail: a magical device that can grant any wish.
- Kiritsugu and company are wrapping up after the assault on their castle, and the Einzbern Master decides to ignore Saber's desire to pursue Caster, instead leaving to finish off Kayneth. But Kayneth awakens to find himself bandaged and strapped to a bed.

Saber manages to destroy Berserker's gun, but is startledd to find he knows the exact length of her sword. She ask for his true identity, and Berserker removes his mask to reveal Sir Lancelot, one of Saber's most trusted knights, gravely shocking her. At the same time, a dying Kariya begins hallucinating due to his guilt over Aoi. Rider summons Ionian Hetairoi and he and his army charge at Archer. Archer pulls out his sword Ea and uses his Noble Phantasm Enuma Elish to destroy Rider's army and Ionian Hetairoi, sending them back into real world. Rider asks Waver if he would like to become his retainer, to which he agrees. Rider pulls out Waver from his horse and orders him to live on and pass down the tale of his final battle. Rider charges at Archer and is slain by Ea, but not before Archer tells Rider that he respects him as his equal. In admiration of his loyalty to Rider, Archer spares Waver's life and departs, leaving Waver mourning. Kiritsugu finally reaches Kirei, who has laid out his wife's body on the theater's stage.
- With Kiritsugu and Kirei fighting with all of their skills, Saber finally kills Lancelot where they share one last talk together. As both Kiritsugu and Kirei are about to give each other the finishing blow, a black ooze from the Grail's spreads over them.
- Saber destroys the Grail along with the theater before disappearing. As the smoke clears, Kiritsugu bears witness as the Grail's curse pours from the sky, consuming Archer and rapidly flooding through the city, bringing utter destruction to everything it touches.
