- Kelso is back from Chicago: he has a daughter, Betsy, and his paternal status makes him even more desirable to Kimberly, but once he realizes she is someone's daughter too, his own conquest somehow feels sordid, unless her father... Kitty gets Hyde to call his 'lost dad' Barnett again. Eric decides to (ab)use his 'year off' for undeserved treats, such as bubble gum ice cream, and doing things he always dreamed off, such as vandalizing a local shop; when Red takes everyone to the muffler shop only to find it's out of business, Eric decides to shorten that word to 'muff' with the gang, but Red, who is tired of his failing job applications, has news after a visit to the bank...
- It's April 15th and Hilton hasn't even started working on his taxes, a fact he wants to make sure Ruth doesn't discover.
- Michael has decided it's time to dump Angie, but doesn't know how to do it less insensitively then the many other times he dumped girls, so he chickens out. He could have spared himself the trouble: she dumps him because her dad has decided to promote her to manager of his Milwaukee record shop, although she hasn't learned anything about the business, so Hyde is not happy - or didn't she get that right? Eric finally has the paperwork ready to study, but now Red announces his college fund is now lost on the muffler shop, and student counselor Mr. Bray is only interested in girls, especially Donna. When he finally finds a solution, it comes at the price of a year further away then either Kitty or Donna could accept.
- Whitley is Little Miss Lonely when she thinks everyone's forgotten her 21st birthday.
- Michael and Fez move into their apartment, but can't agree who gets the room next to the bathroom. Red visits and gives them a taste of how rudely guests can behave, repaying the kids' own irresponsible behavior in his basement. Eric wants to become a teacher but learns he failed physical education and can only get his diploma by taking summer classes in gym. The person in charge of Eric receiving the diploma is Michael Kelso's rather sleazy brother, Casey (with whom Eric has not gotten along, as both men were interested in Donna, who is now Eric's girlfriend). Casey, now a gym teacher, requires Eric to do a single successful pull-up to attain his diploma. Eric finally prevails. Kitty, there to support Eric, finds herself in lust over the fit and macho Casey, despite his treatment of her son.
- It is Cliff & Clair's 27th wedding anniversary. He plans to recreate the Caribbean restaurant where they dined on their honeymoon, in their home. He hires a band, chef, and decorations for atmosphere. The day arrives - and Cliff is sick.

Red has got cable TV to compensate for failing conversation with Kitty, but deliberately refused a connection for the basement; Hyde taps into it himself, but has no control over the (weather) channel choice. Mitch proclaims Donna his hot fiancé, leading to a public fight with Eric neither really wants.
- Roseanne has a hard time dealing with Becky's announcement that she wants to go on the pill.
- When Tom's son comes to town, he goes to great lengths to hide him from Carol Anne. Meanwhile, Norris finds a disciple in Medea, who caught his act on TV.
- Bernard gets conned out of his rent money, so Damon decides to help him get it back.
- Dwayne and Walter weave a tall tale about their basketball-recruiting trip, which took some strange turns.
- Libby and Sam are playing house and they have two different ideas of how to do that. Sam tells Libby they must kiss and Sam's mother catches them. Grace's car is finally done for and she goes to the used car lot to buy another, 'less old' one. Grace gets the price she wants.
- It's double trouble as Dick searches for his own replacement.

- When Roseanne finds a bag of pot in David's room, she's angry---and worried about how Dan is going to react. Of course, he goes ballistic, until he realizes the stuff is a 20-year old relic of his and Roseanne's youth, inevitably, they roll a joint for old times' sake, and before you can say "like, wow," Dan, Roseanne and her sister, Jackie, are adrift in a Cheech-and-Chong time warp. At first, they have fun sneaking around like they did in the '70s, hoping not to get busted by their children, but then adult realities set in like a bad trip.
