- Small as he was in stature, Scotty's funeral spells a huge void. Zeke consoles Rachel and cues her a funny text to start remembering Stingray's peculiar, popular humor. Boyd nearly didn't go at all, but both his lovers, Glen who bows out and shocked Jane, urge him to go and stay. Dylan is beyond heartbroken, an utter wreck, it takes dad Kim to stop him from violently lashing out, then Steiger, who allows Kim to escape provided he takes initially unwilling Dylan along up north, till he's straightened-out, ready to return and step in as Kerry's surviving Timmins dad.
- Rita counsels Kath and stops her killing herself. The women find a weapon to defeat Rodney with. Rita tells Alice she has some big plans that nothing - and no-one - can interfere with.
- Joan surprises everyone when she volunteers to be Rita's constant help. Harry makes an unexpected announcement.
- Mum pleads with Bea to give herself up to the police. Judy and Doreen finally admit they were setting up Margo. Meg tries to matchmake when she realises Terry Harrison is interested in Vera.
- Rita carries out the robbery but is recaptured and brought back to Wentworth in a bad way. Joan goes to pick up the cash but chickens out. Alice gets Tom to bring in his motorbike for Rita to ride in the grounds as a birthday treat. Ann is told her reforms have been accepted and Dwyer sacked. Rita announces she's standing down as Top Dog and wants Kath to take over. Harry is transferred to Barnhurst. Joan arrives at work next day to hear Rita died during the night. She finally picks up the stolen loot, but the cops are waiting for her and she arrives in Wentworth on remand overnight and is put in Solitary. Joan starts cracking up and is horrified when her meal is brought in by a very much alive Rita. She is taken away to another prison next morning as the women whoop and holler. Rita tells Alice she's "going to be the oldest biker in the world".
- Spider finally succeeds in pushing Rita too far. Rodney makes plans to get back at Lisa. Kath's escape could end with her in a pine box.
- Rita struggles to come to terms with the news of her impending death. Returned to Wentworth and rejected by Merle, Kath feels like she has nothing left to live for and prepares to commit suicide.
- Rita escapes from Wentworth to carry out her robbery. Kath and Merle are reunited and the women learn of Rita's condition. The department assess Ann's reform proposals.
- In the aftermath of the escape, a distraught Merle is sedated and committed to a mental institution. Dwyer advises Joan to swallow her pride and return to Wentworth. The women, with the help of Lisa, plan a cruel humiliation for Rodney.
- Rita receives some devastating news from the doctor about her ill health. Kath finally manages to escape from her minders.
- Zeke is delighted Anne is joining his school, Bree gets mixed feelings. Rachel somehow scorns Stingray for frolicking with college friends, Sky cruelly calls him less mature because he occasionally drinks. Karl refuses to remain Sky's doctor because of her deceit to Dylan, too down to mention Zeke is playing in his leather performance pants, later overhears Susan and the kids discuss his insecurity and their sincere efforts. Susan blurts out to Lyn Max's 'affair'. Janelle insists Lou takes tests for Karl's Alzheimers suspicion.
- Margo's terror campaign continues, while the police find the van they believe Bea used for her escape.
- Ann awaits her test results and Lizzie goes in front of the parole board.
- Myra is shocked by the result of her trial. The women punish Margo for her nasty tricks. And Bobbie's stay in Sydney is doomed.
- The siege drags on as Inspector Grace tries to bring things to a safe conclusion. As the terrorists' deadline arrives with no progress, they carry out their threats and kill Tammy, dumping her body outside the prison. Myra is told that she must choose the next person to die. In the kitchen, Lou and Lexie make a failed attempt to escape. Julie crawls through the air-conditioning in a bid to contact the police.
- Spider tries to burn down the shop and is worried that Joan will bash her to punish her. When her attacker comes in the middle of the night, though, it's not Joan - Kath is made trustee in charge of the shop. Rita is reluctantly appointed to try and keep Sarah in line. Spider's confession about Lester prompts Lisa to get her voice back.
- Stingray has hit Toadie with blue paint, he claims it's a day too soon and Big Kev's turn. Frazer's fancy diary as Christmas present for Rosie is rewarded with a hot kiss, sister Carmella and Will are equally lip-locked even before her next skin repair-unveiling. The Kennedys were packing for Christmas in the country, when Guy barges in waving a gun- besides Zeke, Katya, Steph and Toadie become hostages, Rosie and Karl get away, until... Ned scorns Paul, being appointed Lassiters' animation direction and tour guide by team Timmins. Detective Skinner brings Paul proof about Will's true identity: Sebastian Barnes, whose family holds Lassister's last 2%, Paul demands the voting right for silence to Carmella. Frazer's unresponsiveness when Rosie asks in lingerie to be 'unwrapped as his Christmas present' may steer her back to Paul, who gives her a fancy watch.
- Jock Stewart blackmails Judy into working for him, but she tips off the police. Sid's friendship with Lizzie develops. The divorce papers depress Doreen and she looks to new prison teacher David for comfort.
- Doreen and Judy are sent to barnhurst after the roster mix - up.. and Judy is also questioned about the fire in the staff room.. News is going around the prison about Bea being taken to Hospital for her kidney transplant and Lizzie is caught in the act of stealing from the kitchen by Colleen and is sent to another block.. The women are fed up on how the screws are treating them and Marie Winter tries to make trouble - Top Dog Sandy Edwards agrees to Riot - The Inmates start collecting weapons for the riot and Marie starts making sling shots out of the scraps in the laundry.. Colleen is promoted and Meg Morris tries to tell everyone there is going to be trouble with the women but no one cares as they just think it will die down.. Later that night.. Meg Morris Jim Flectcher Jannet Conway and New Officer Steve Falkner are on Night duty - Sandy and Kate Peaterson start letting the women out after lights out.. Marie and the other women are making fire bombs in Doreen and Judy's old cell.. Jim and Meg go on there rounds for the final time before knocking off.. when all hell breaks loose when Meg and Jim spot the women unlocking a gate.. The women spot them and charge at them.. Jim runs for it and sounds the riot alarm.. and Meg just stands there in terror.. The women throw fire bombs and try to unlock the 2nd gate.. Jim runs back and grabs Meg and they run for it.. The season ends with the women charging at Meg and Jim with fire bombs and Polls yelling.
- Petra is shattered when her secret is divulged and Lucy finds a way to blackmail the Freak.
- The deadly fever subsides after taking many lives. Bea and Tony spend a night together. But is it their last?
- Joan finally triumphs over Colleen. Someone wants Paul Reynolds out of the way, and Judy is accused of molesting Belinda.
- Meg is demoted and replaced as Deputy Governor by a gleeful Joan, who also ruins Julie's chance of parole and future happiness. Is there a lagger among the women? Rita and co think it's Kath and vow revenge. The prisoners rollerskate round the corridors and take on the officers in a volleyball game.
- Brumby's bashers are revealed and punished for their misdeeds. Marty places himself in considerable danger as he continues his attempts to help Spike.
- Lou tries his best (still terrible) Russian at a gathering for Mishk'as compatriots, but neither he nor Harold have a feel for the Russian taste. Paul doesn't realize how badly he's being played by rivals Izzy and Elle, then 'Cam' and Izzy tape (or did he manipulate it?) a message from Izzy that she prefers the son to the father. Sky and Elle try hard to make their mark in telemarketing.
- Despite all Rosie's panicking, and everyone oversleeping, the wedding is a radiant success, attended even by uncle Rocco and Frazer's estranged pa and brothers. Carmella keeps cruelly twisting Ringo's feelings, but Frazer makes him proud by requesting his speech, outdoing even the romantic wedding vows. Meanwhile Ned presents Mickey to his big brother Steve Parker, who moves to Anson's Corner with his wife Miranda and daughter Bridget. Post-party traffic spells disaster.
- Elle Robinson's Evil scheme to ruin Carmella and Oliver's relationship kicks into gear. Dylan struggles to deal with Stingray being involved with Kerry's upbringing. When Frazer spills the beans, Rosie is flung back into the arms of Paul.
- A familiar face returns to Wentworth.
- The siege comes to a bloody and tragic end as Ruth orders Myra's death and the horrified women look on in horror as their Top Dog is executed in front of them. As Ruth and the terrorists make their getaway with Joan as their hostage, Nora flips out and turns the tables on one of their captors. Heading for the airport, Joan's life is still in peril until she manages to get the upper hand.
- Stranded at sea, Joan decides to head for a nearby island to try and get help, and is pursued by Rita, intent on killing her as revenge for Slasher's death. However, Nancy is determined to stop her - and Joan turns out to be the one who has to save Rita's life in the end. On the boat, Roach is falling for Mick and decides that she isn't going back with the others. Back in Wentworth, Kath throws her weight around with the other girls.
- The good news is Stingray's complete and Kerry's impending recovery, plus Karl's re-proposal to Susan. For Janae, loosing Boyd seems the end of the world. Glenn has a hard time convincing Boyd to move in at her parents' Tasmanian beach-house and stays silent about her pregnancy test. Ringo overcomes his inferiority complex as Rachel's lover after 'cool' older Scotty. Steiger commends Dylan for the Timmins tenacity and solidarity. Janelle has her 33th birthday barbecue- for the n-th time, a blast until Scotty 'Stingray' suddenly faints.
- Lizzie is becoming increasingly frightened about the atmosphere in Wentworth.
- Bea learns she will probably be charged with arson and murder. Alan Jeffries' father vows to get Sara jailed for Alan's death and have the halfway house closed down. The women realise Andy is being picked on by other male prisoners. Bea and Lizzie get out of hospital and arrive at Woodridge. Bea protests against the conditions. When Colleen mentions there were two fires, Bea realises Chrissie didn't burn the place down. Paddy comes to visit Andy but doesn't tell him his father is ill. Rejected again by Tony, Maxine hooks up with Spud and they try to rob a truck, landing them both back in jail. Andy gets a kicking and is rushed to hospital. The male inmates start a riotous protest against the women taking over the mailbag sewing contract. In the midst of the chaos, Jeannie goes into labour but the screws don't hear the women calling.
- Sonia finds herself at the mercy of Joan, but finds that the latter has no compassion whatsoever. Wally turns detective to help Rosemary.
- Rita and the girls plot revenge on Stud and Billy for the attack on Lorelei. Alice tries to find out the truth about Harry's past.
- Zeke tells his female family what made him furious: his whole football team is drooling over Katya's pin-up nudes; she confesses it was once off, to pay for her drug addiction then, claiming a real family prevents such misery and gets support; she's forgiven, and Zeke is happy when the adults tell him to play the pin-up as his 'hot house-mate', popularity guaranteed with horny teenage mates. Dylan announces in the Trousers house he is ready, after Skys admires him for handling the Bree-Anne-crisis so well, to propose with an ancient, perhaps spooky ring. After Boyd reassures his jealous wife they can catch up with a romantic wedding later, she sees herself as romantic counselor, but the Timmins boys decide to go for simple, the real Dylan, fine for Sky: wedding bells! After failing to help an ER patient, Dr. Herbert confesses her addiction and false accusations, for once thanks to nurse Katya. A drunk Rach on the roof causes Scotty to climb the all too shaky ladder...
- Rob tells the real Cam he's last on the list to die in his evil revenge scheme. Izzy still hopes to uncover him and get Paul back, Max feels he's not even worth having, but believes the MP3-tape she stole clears his sister. Toadie insists to the Timmins he as lawyer may not even know about false confessions like Janelle obviously made, and tries his luck with Katya now she's dumped by 'Cam', who plants a bomb in Elle's sports-car. Boyd is sort of relieved when dad Max wishes him luck with his first medical exam. Paul can't ignore the tape; he and Izzy convince Elle to get out of the jaguar, seconds before it explodes. Cam gets a real surprise in St.Luke's hospital, which causes another twist. Dylan is determined to reconcile Janae and Janelle.
- In the spa Scotty and Rachel weren't really relaxing, actually return worse stressed after finding out mutually with Karl and Susan, causing major reproaches and guilt feelings, mainly with the girls; Janelle allows Rachel to move in till further notice. Dylan watches even more dazzled, and disgusted, how Janelle's aggression against Elle -she failed to enlist Harold- melts at the prospects of luxury credit card appliance and holiday gifts. Sister Carmella finds out after an Oodles Noodles performance without Karl in kangaroo costume, causing apathy with all kids, that Justine is a gold-digging agent who only hired Julia as 'niece' and cheats Ned blind; Ned overhears them, her dishonesty makes him dump her and invite Carmella for the otherwise wasted meal for two.
- Sky is having her baby, but father Stingray isn't admitted, even Karl fears he 's a lose gun-hazard in his intoxicated condition. Carmella tries to stop her niece Teresa abusing her nurse's uniform for a nasty plan with Sky's baby, but gets knocked down; Will finds and rescues her when there is a fire, but afterward the baby is missing...
- It's team Timmins' turn at the car race track, with expert Steiger, with mysterious free ticket from a bogus company; bad looser Dylan fakes running over champion Scotty, nobody takes his 'joke' well. Crushed by debts, Ned robs the Timmins home under Paul's instructions; they weren't insured, almost everybody had a key. Karl's rooster Springsteen keeps spreading lice and panic. Gerard Tate from Social Services advises Lou to keep a eye on Louise, Harold insists he must inform her legal parents, she overhears them and runs away.
- The men responsible for Daphne and Gail's accident are collared by Jim, Paul, Tony, Jane and Charlene. However, Daphne shows no sign of coming out of her coma. Elsewhere Helen and Frank say their goodbyes . Daphne eventually regains consciousness but only long enough to say she loves Des, before going into Cardiac arrest. The Doctors battle to save her life but are unable to, leaving Des devastated.
- Declan can't cope with the utterly uncertain wait, rages at everyone and wanders off, until Zeke brings him back. Declan makes up with everyone and reassures Didge, but as Karl feared the long untreated internal infection is beyond help, so India is orphaned.
- Marilyn and Mum are released; Mum will help her pregnant granddaughter. Eddie and Marilyn are going to have a chance to run a milk bar owned by the new inmate, thanks to Bea's intervention. Bea and her friend Ferguson hatch a plot to get rid of Vera by accusing her of assault on a prisoner. Frankie and Doreen stay with the elderly woman they found, and she turns out to be aware of who they are--and doesn't care; she just wants company. Karen's lawyer files for a retrial, but he so discourages Lynn that she attempts suicide.
- Lizzie regains some of her old fight. Erica goes on TV to refute Judy's claims. David Andrews arrives to start the new Education Centre in the prison library.
- Karen's barrister, Mr. Wilson, is retained to represent Mrs. Roberts who killed the man who raped her daughter. She is remanded to prison and finds the adjustment hard. Doreen and Frankie must find a way to get money; Franky favours a bank robbery. Karen receives the letter from Frankie; Lyn gets assurance she will get a light sentence. On their way to a robbery, Franky is shot and killed; Doreen walks back to prison and turns herself in because she blames Karen for Franky wanting to escape and plans revenge.
