- On the run from murderers, two men disguise themselves as women and join an all girl band.
- A singer by profession, Suraj (Rajesh Khanna) gets stranded in resthouse in the coutnryside during a rainstorm. While there he experiences ununsual feelings, as if he has been there before. He feels himself transported to another time and era, to another birth, and drawn to a woman named Ratna (Hema Malini). He is unable to leave this experience behind him, and decides to find out what this means. He discovers that in his past life he was a Chief Singer in the emperor's court, his name was Prakash and he had fallen in love with a courtesan named Ratna, much to the chargin and anger of his family and the emperor's and his officials. They are tragically separated. He subsequently comes across a portrait of Ratna, and shortly after he meets a gypsy, Jhumri (also Hema Malini) who looks exactly like Ratna. Soon Jhumri is also able to recollect her past life, and her love for Prakash. This does not auger well with Rita Malhotra (Asha Sachdev) who loves Suraj, and Appa (Prem Chopra), the son of the leader of the gypsies (Madan Puri), who will not stop at anything to make Jhumri his wife. Appa steals the portrait, and instigates the gypsies against Suraj, so that he can marry Jhumri, and perhaps separate the two lovers again in this birth also.
- Thakur Chandrabhan lives a wealthy lifestyle in a small village in India. He is widowed and lives with his sister; a widowed daughter-in-law, Saraswati; and a grand-daughter, Tara, who is of marriageable age. Also living in this household is Bholanath, who is blind since birth, and helps with household chores. Tara's marriage is arranged with a young man, Pratap Singh, from a noble family, who approves of Tara, but demands a dowry of 3 Lakh Rupees. Chandrabhan does not have this much money, but Bholanath has been stashing away cash, that is guarded by a snake, and offers all of it to Pratap, who accepts it and absconds. Blind Bhola is unable to pursue him, but is instead bitten by the snake, regains his vision and sets forth to Bombay to locate Pratap. Several weeks later, Bholanath returns home, just in time to be told that he must marry Tara, as she refuses to marry anyone else. Tara notices something very odd about Bholanath as he calls her "Tara', not as "Little Mistress" as he used to; he is terrified of snakes; and seems more cultured and educated. The family decides to get the two engaged, however, the ceremony is interrupted by the arrival of the police, who have an arrest warrant for Bholanath for Theft, and Murder of a young woman named Lucy. The question remains, what was Bholanath up to in Bombay, whose money did he steal, and why did he end up killing Lucy?
- Concerned about the outbreak of plague in a distant rural village in India, Dr. D.D. Sinha asks a number of prominent doctors to go there and treat the ailing and prevent the disease from spreading. No one except his protégé, Dr. Paras, is prepared to go there. Lajjo awaits his return, but he does not return, the villagers taunt her, beat her senseless, she loses her eyesight, is abducted and sold into prostitution. Then one day she gets an unexpected patron, none other Dr. Paras, who is now engaged to Dr. Sinha's daughter, neurologist Manju, and would like to assist Lajjo is getting her sight back. The question is will Lajjo accept any help from a man who betrayed her, and is directly responsible for her present plight?

A shocked Amar must now find out why his sweetheart chose to marry a wealthy man, and it is here he will find out that his falling in the river was not an accident but he was the victim of a conspiracy against him.

When he recovers fully he is shocked to find that Salma has not only accepted Iqbal as her lover, but has also taken a lot of money and jewelry from his mother. He takes to alcohol in a big way and swears to exact vengeance against Salma by getting married to Mumtaz and forcing Salma to sing and dance at his wedding.

So she maliciously gets Dashrath to sign over his entire estate in her name - leaving him penniless. Pavan attempts to set things right for this family, but greed, avarice, and lust have already overcome them to such an extent that he must use his heavenly powers to control them. Shri Ram, who feels that Pavan should not have used his powers to change the course of events, has his powers taken away, leaving him a mere mortal at the mercy of Kamla, Sarita, Raman, Dhaman, and a notorious smuggler Bhairo Singh - who is none other than the reincarnation of Lord Ravan himself.

- Widowed Judge Kedarnath Sinha lives a comfortable life with two sons, CBI Inspector Vijay and college student Sonu. Vijay is aware of the terrible tragedy that marked his 5th-birthday celebration: the party was interrupted by vengeful escaped convict Billa, who killed DCP Ravi Khanna, cut off Kedarnath's right hand, and abducted and brutally assaulted and raped Sharda Khanna. Sonu doesn't come to know about this until well after his 25th birthday, when Kedarnath tells him that he is Sharda's and Billa's son. Shocked and devastated, Sonu accepts this reality and leaves the Sinha household. Shortly thereafter, he is wanted by the Police for helping dreaded killer Kaalia escape from prison. What Kedarnath and Vijay do not know is that Sonu helped Kaalia in order to reach Billa, but instead meets with Dagha, becomes his hit-man, and accepts a contract to kill Dagha's former associate Shakaal and retrieve a videotape titled "Marte Dam Tak". What is recorded in that video-tape is not that film, but something that will change Sonu's life forever and make him an enemy of the law, with Vijay hot on his trail.

- After witnessing his parents' assassination by Thakur Hakim Singh, Laakhan Singh, and Roshan Singh; Captain Zorawar Singh from the Indian army takes shelter in Gauri's house and consumes an unreasonable amount of alcohol. Years later, Shankar has grown up to be a police inspector and is on the lookout for Zorawar; he comes to the aid of a mechanic named Suraj Singh several times and befriends him, finding out that he owns a small garage and lives with his elderly mother Padmini in the Bombay slums. What Shankar does not know is that his friendship with Suraj will be short-lived: Suraj is the biological son of his enemy Zorawar, and Padmini is his wife.
- Wealthy Bombay-based industrialist Kedarnath travels to a small town where his childhood friend Narayan resides. He meets with him, his wife Laxmi, and their daughter Rani. He proposes that Rani marry his son Rajesh and move with him to the city. Narayan and Laxmi are overjoyed, and soon a marriage takes place. When Rani reaches Kedarnath's house, she is not at all welcomed by her mother-in-law Sheila, nor her husband or his sisters Jyoti and Pinky. She is ill-treated, belittled, slapped, and humiliated on every possible occasion. Then the unexpected happens: Jyoti happened to be a child bride married into a poor Bhardwaj family. Now Deepak Bhardwaj has grown up and come to claim Jyoti as his wife, and moves into their house, much to the chagrin of Jyoti, Rajesh, Pinky, and Sheila. Tragedy follows as Kedarnath passes away, leaving Rani and Deepak to the mercy of Sheila, who loses no time asking them to leave the house. She is now busy preparing Rajesh's marriage to a young woman named Sona, who is not only rich, but beautiful and ready to come to her home with a huge dowry. What Sheila does not know that Sona has her own agenda, which includes Sheila not at all.
- Police Inspector Shekhar Varma lives in Khar, Bombay, along with his wife, Meena, and a school-going daughter. His office is notified that Editor Ritesh Nandy has received death threats as he come across evidence that would expose some very influential people. Ritesh is assigned police protection, however, he gets killed. A stunningly beautiful woman, Geeta Sarabhai, comes forward as a witness to Ritesh's death, but is unable to identify the assailant. When she starts receiving death threats Shekhar and Inspector Pramod Kadam take turns to protect her. Shekhar and Geeta fall in love with each other, and Meena starts to suspect that Shekhar is having an affair. She gets him to admit this, and moves out to live with her dad. Then Pramod is grievously wounded while trying to protect Geeta and is hospitalized. Shekhar will soon find out that Ritesh's killing is closely linked to high-ranked police officials - and he will also find out that that no matter what he does, he will, leave alone Geeta, be unable to protect himself, Meena and his daughter.

After his friends' deaths, he finds out that Tony and Jojo have Ajay on their hit list, so he tries to stop them, but his police commissioner, Shashi Kapoor, warns him against it.

In prison she gives birth to a son, calls him Raja alias Raju and right from his infancy trains his young mind to hate Mahendrapratap, so that when he grows up he will avenge her humiliation. The question remains, will Raju be able to carry out this vengeance against his biological father or does fate have other plans for him?

After completing his sentence Ajay return home only to find that nothing is the same anymore his dad and fiancée has committed suicide, his mother is living a destitute life while his sister loses her mental balance and is confined in a mental asylum prompting Ajay to start his own investigations with the help of a police officer whose daughter was one of the rape victims. After concluding his investigations Ajay is willing to leave no stone unturned in punishing the real perpetrators of the crime he was wrongly punish for.

Raj forgives and accepts Priya after finding the truth. Vikram, who believed that Priya drowned herself, find out that she's alive and about to marry Raj, and manages to trace them to Shimla. He tries to kill Raj; on failing, he sends him to jail and goes to kill Priya.
- Multi-millionaire Vinay Kumar owns a show-room with Jewels found all over the world in different shape, style and fashion. In order to exhibit something new he seeks permission from the British Government to loan him the priceless Kohinoor diamond who agrees and laid down a condition that he will have to mortgage his entire show-room with them as guarantee that the diamond will be return. Thus Police Commissioner Surya Dev Singh is entrust with the task of securing the diamond from thieves. The diamond attracts both outlaws and ordinary characters and unfortunately the diamond got stolen; with everyone being a suspect the real culprit is not willing to part with the diamond under any circumstances.

And what excuse do they produce for abandoning her?
