The president's political opponent Kahan has had the Rule's son Johnny kidnapped and he will be harmed unless Harry shoots the president. A charade follows in which Harry appears to do as he is ordered and Caroline then kills Harry.
- The Protectors are three independently wealthy private detectives - American Harry Rule, living in London, Caroline who was married to an Italian Count, and Paris-based art expert Paul Buchet. They are approached by Freddie Reiwald, a scientist working on a means of perfecting synthetic gold, whose four colleagues have all died in mysterious circumstances. Freddie is about to perform a stunt parachute jump with a man called Ransome, and the killers have abducted Ransome's girlfriend, threatening to murder her unless he lets Freddie die. The Protectors must find her before the stunt takes place.
- A young drifter returns to his home in Key West, Florida and attempts to open a fishing charter business, provoking a dangerous feud with a rival fishing sea captain.
- A tourist in Rome unwittingly purchases an extremely valuable antique. Charlie Chan must sort out the mix up before people start getting hurt or even killed as various parties try to retrieve the item.
- Father Unwin and Matthew are put onto the case when the Ambassador of Dreisenberg attempts to smuggle a stolen mini-computer out of the country.
- In Rome Harry and Caroline are approached to deliver a case to Prince Carpiano at his villa but its contents are such that they have to fight off two attempts to obtain it. Then they realise that it is carrying a bomb; they have been used as decoys whilst another courier takes the genuine article to the prince. In fact its contents are the funding for a proposed right wing coup devised by the prince. The Protectors must stop him.
- In Paris three Interpol agents each separately and inexplicably commit suicide in public by different means and Nemesis is brought in to investigate. Sharron recalls a newspaper cutting with reference to a Mafia Don, whose enemies all committed suicide. His name is Del Marco and the Champions fly to Rome to visit his casino. Sharron gains his confidence when she tells him she is being followed by a man, who is Craig. Craig confronts Del Marco, claiming he is out for revenge against him following the murder of his brother. Craig is seen off the premises and one of Del Marco's henchmen shakes his hand. He is wearing a glove soaked in a poison which will induce a desire to commit suicide by the recipient of the handshake and Craig climbs to the top of a high building to throw himself off. Richard and Sharron have to communicate with him to avert disaster.
- Four men in fancy dress costumes are celebrating committing a robbery in a house near a building site when they are gunned down. When a man's body is recovered, locked in a trunk in a car that was pushed into a lake, the bullets that killed him match those from the gun of one of the murdered quartet. Stewart follows the trail to piece together the connection and to unmask the person who hired the robbers and who is holding Libby, a witness to the robbery, captive.
- After a brawl, Number Six is declared "unmutual" and is made to think that he has undergone "instant social treatment."
- Lawyer John Webb creates a monster when he introduces his son to a mobster.

- A glamorous actress is murdered and an M9 agent, whose cover has been discovered, is framed for her murder. Drake task is to get him out of jail and off the island using a submarine code-named Doris.
- Remy investigates the death of the father of a young débutante in a suspicious plane crash in the swamps and learns a series of facts about the unscrupulous businessman, including the fact that C.D. was romantically involved with the widow of the victim. Meanwhile, Anne, with Darlene's help, strikes out on her own investigation into the mysterious death by trying to establish a motive by either the débutante daughter Alana, or the estranged artist son Kent.
- On a visit back to England, Jason finds himself with income tax problems. However, it turns out to be a way of blackmailing him into helping the police solve a series of robberies where the police computer seems to be illegally accessed.
- Sadly, as a methodical assassin has been killing off the noble and honourable members of the Sinclair Clan one by one, Brett who is next in line, must find a way to flush him out, of course with the aid of Danny and a stunning Sinclair.

- A highly valuable necklace is stolen from Lord Gillingham by his secretary Kate, who kills the jeweler in the process.
- A bomb goes off in a Paris salon, just as Mike is photographing the models.
- Interpol agent Birney arrives in Beirut and soon afterwards his body is found washed up on a beach. Sir Curtis believes he drowned accidentally whilst out swimming but Stewart, a personal friend of his, disagrees. Sir Curtis takes the view that Stewart would be too emotionally involved and sends Jason to carry on Birney's investigation of a drug smuggling racket, but inevitably Stewart goes too.
- A badly wounded Republican courier manages to elude his pursuers and find Marco's studio.

She believes her father was innocent and that Harry framed him. In order for her to learn the truth, Harry arranges for Kate to meet two former associates of her father, only to discover that the so-called attempt on his life was a set-up and he has been led into a trap.
- Jason travels to a South American republic to receive an award - in the form of a medallion - for one of his books. In fact both the corrupt President Cordoba, who has bugged the medallion, and the opposing rebel forces, led by glamorous government minister Delphi, believe that the book is so close to the truth about events in their country that he has an actual source of information, and neither will believe that it is all a fiction.
- Two M9 agents have been tortured and murdered on a Caribbean island, and Drake's sent to find out who killed them and to determine how much information they divulged before dying.
- Several crew members explore the planet Sunin, including botanist Shermeen Williams, who appears to have visionary gifts. She links up with an alien, called Vindrus, who wants her help in transferring his body and that of his race into solid matter, giving them proper human form so that they can join the universe as real matter. However, for every one of his race made flesh, an Alphan must lose their matter.
- A mother's plea that her soldier-son has been unjustly sentenced to Devil's Island prompts the Count to investigate. He discovers a web of corruption involving two officers in the French army.
- Investigating a suspicious death in North Africa Harry is mistaken for a drug smuggler and asked to take a consignment to Malta. Here he learns that the operation is organized by Australian James Leroy Mallory, who is also running an illegal trade in blood plasma. Harry is joined by Caroline, who poses as a client in order to meet Mallory. Unfortunately he discovers who she is and the other Protectors have to come to her rescue.
- Nikki Holz sets out from Germany to London with important information for Mannering but she is abducted before she can meet up with him. Mannering and Cordelia learn that her captors are members of a neo-Nazi organization who are selling off art treasures in order to fund their attempts to gain dominance in Europe, a discovery which leads the Baron into a dangerous climbing adventure.
- Susanna and the Captain both sneak off to Monte Carlo while the ship is docked - and all become convinced that Susanna has a winning system for big money.
- British Intelligence plan to copy the plot of Jason's book, 'A Page Before Dying', to smuggle Gorini, a man who has information for them, out of East Berlin hidden in a safe. The first part of the scheme involves Jason being smuggled into the East in the safe but when he reaches the meeting place he finds that he has been duped and used as a decoy whilst Gorini has already been taken to safety through other means.
- A stockbroker and safe-cracker join forces to pull jobs in wealthy homes. After the upper class crook commits a murder at one job, the cracksman is caught at the next. His lawyer then accuses Gideon of police brutality.
- Remy, Janine, C.D. and the team investigate the shooting spree at a local restaurant where the owner apparently died from sheer fright. But when Remy learns that the victim was in fact poisoned, he sets out to find the culprit. This leads him from the shooting culprit, Angela, who's father was in competition with the murder victim, which leads to a shady produce entrepreneur, whom was in feud with the victim.

However she is convinced that her house is haunted when the clocks start to run backwards and she keeps hearing a chorus of children singing 'A Pocketful of Posies'. - Denise de Mornay a successful French painter arrives in Australia and hires one of Cobb's coaches for her exclusive use. Cobb becomes concerned when they arrive at the home of gentleman bushranger Jimmy Quicksilver.
- It's August 26th and it's Packy's birthday. He gets what he's been wanting, a new rifle. He and Joey go out hunting, but they run into trouble.
- Father Unwin and Matthew are sent to investigate the sabotage of several desalination plants with the help of Agent Blake.
- Straker's son John lives with Straker's ex-wife Mary, who has re-married. Straker is having a day out with the boy, John, but it ends in an argument with Mary and John is run over and seriously hurt. Drugs can be obtained to save him in America and a SHADO craft is sent to fetch them. However, Straker gets an alert call to say that an alien defector which could do untold damage to Earth is in the range of the SHADO craft. SHADO can destroy the alien but it means diverting the means to save John.
