Mullaney and Judge Walker face a defense attorney demanding a mistrial in the Turner case because of their developing relationship. Also, Becker ends up getting duped by a phony come-on by Halliday after he tells her of his divine sight to see the truth.

Meanwhile, Brackman can't resist a nasal aphrodisiac in his attempt to revive his sex life with Sheila. Flicker continues to annoy and tempt Becker, and then after much forceful reasoning, he finally allows Arnie to meet with Eric Schuller, who is revealed to be long dead. Also, Morales represents a man suing the hog-finishing plant over the foul odor contaminating his nearby home.

Meanwhile, Kelsey and Halliday square off against each other while they are representing Karl Bullon, a self-righteous department store employer being sued by an ex-employee for eavesdropping on her who was having an extra-marital affair with a co-worker, where Halliday learns a courtroom lesson while cross-examining a witness. Also, Rollins decides to represent Glassman and seeks out a former Black Panther member as a witness for his and Markowitz's case.
- Becker blames Belinda's personal malice for his becoming a suspect in the murder of Camilla Greer, while the rest of the firm rallies around him to prove the charges are false and Jinx is hired to tail Askoff to find out if he had something to do with the murder. Meanwhile, Mullaney anticipates trouble with Judge Arthur Bryson, the man who used to date Judge Carolyn Walker, as he prosecutes a case under California's "three strikes" law. McKenzie makes an abrupt change of plans when he visits a doctor. Also, Denise becomes annoyed by the eccentric photocopier repairman's constant whistling.

Also, Sarah disappears to get away from her mother and Markowitz's meddling, but finally comes to her scenes and returns to revalue her life.

When she fails, Mullaney approaches Grace and hires a kidney broker in order to get a kidney for her friend. Meanwhile, Kuzak represents an angry, left-wing Vietnam veteran suing the patriotic son of a KIA Vietnam vet who assaulted him for burning an American flag at a Veterans Day demonstration. Murray and Benny pose as lawyers to get dates from a taxi-dance club they are now going to, and they later end up in jail for getting into a barroom brawl. Also, C.J. takes a humorous case representing several overweight men injured in a bus accident who are suing the bus company involved.
- Rollins represents a man who is fighting to keep his pregnant girlfriend, put in a coma after a car accident, on life-support so their unborn child can be brought to full-term. Meanwhile, Morales finds himself inadvertently holding a piece of evidence in a murder case. Gwen's stalker continues lurking in the hallways and stairwells of the firm and takes advantage of Morales' legal trouble to kidnap his infant daughter Lucy. Mullaney's frail, estranged, alcoholic father pays an unexpected and unwelcome visit to him and Roxanne to reveal startling news about himself. Also, Markowitz's assault case is settled after he has an attack of conscience and lets his two attackers get off lightly, but Kelsey is not satisfied.

A holiday card from the late Rosalind Shays brings a form of relief for both McKenzie and Grace. Also, a mentally unbalanced temp office worker, named Betty, drives everyone to distraction.
- Flanagan takes the case of dentist Joseph Palmer, whose practice was destroyed by false rumors that he has AIDS, suing a rival dentist as Dr. Frederick Schoettle, who allegedly spread the rumors. Flanagan loses the case, but successfully pulls yet another fast one when he privately blackmails Schultz for a $750,000 settlement by threatening to spread false rumors about him... and keeps most of the settlement money for himself. Becker continues his steamy affair with Belinda, but a rumor about her participation in a past sting operation troubles him, as well as her increasing jealousy and unpredictability. Meanwhile, McKenzie takes the case of Ernie Frye who is being sued by Margo Stanton, the owner of an Afghan show dog, who claims her dog was impregnated by Frye's mutt and the eccentric Judge Zimring, the judge in charge of the case, enjoys the events and even brings his two Boston Terriers to watch the proceedings. Also, Becker complains to McKenzie and Brackman about Flanagan's devious and unscrupulous ways. But when McKenzie questions Flanagan about the allegations of his legal tactics, the two-faced, sociopath Flanagan convinces McKenzie that he has not done any wrongdoing of any kind in the past or now.
- Brackman's first day back at the firm begins badly when Markowitz also returns prematurely and takes off on an irresponsible spree with Benny. Meanwhile, Gwen takes the reins in a divorce case where the husband is determined to blackmail his wife into relinquishing her claims to his real estate business. Becker represents a wine maker in a court case over the property of the family winery. Roxanne, frazzled and overworked, yearns for something more in her life: a baby. Rollins comes back to work at the firm after losing the election and tries to apologize to an angry Kelsey while facing a cold reception from most of the office due to the tabloids publishing his racist views which he made during the election campaign.
- Due to the stress of her return to work, Zoey opts to be out of the D.A.'s office and decides to leave L.A., and Mullaney. Meanwhile, Rollins' campaign sinks lower and lower as the election draws near. Becker looks inward to his future, but Roxanne sees just the same old Becker. In jail, Brackman learns about his new life from behind the bars. Markowitz is slow to heal and frustrations set in for him and Kelsey. Mullaney becomes aroused in his first case for the D.A.'s office in prosecuting a man in a child-abuse case, who is being defended by a nun lawyer.
