He is quite beautiful. I don't think this statue is very useful though. I want that. I want that. I want that. Stop crying, will you? Look at the prince. He never cries. But I want that. Why can't you be like the Happy Prince? He's dead. Er, he's a happy prince. Come on, let's go home. He looks like an angel. Hey, what a nice place to rest for a night. When I was alive, I didn't know what tears were. And now that I am dead, I feel the misery of my people. And though my heart is made of lead, yet I cannot choose but weep. Is he a ghost? But far away in the street there is a poorhouse. Thank you, little Swallow. Come and rest by my side. What did I do? Thanks, little Swallow. Where are you, little Swallow? I'm here, Happy Prince. My friends are all there, Happy Prince. But far away across the city, I see a poor young man. He is writing a play to earn some money. He can't write any more. They are sapphires. Dear Prince, I can't do that. He can sell the sapphire to get food and firewood. Then, he can finish his play. But... Swallow, Swallow, little Swallow. Do as I command you. This must be from someone... who cares about me. Now I can buy food and firewood. And I can finish my play. I must leave you, dear Prince. Winter is coming. Snow will fall. In the square below there stands a little match girl. Oh, Happy Prince. Swallow, Swallow, little Swallow. Do as I command you. I feel sorry for you, Happy Prince. It's alright, little Swallow. You can go to Egypt now. No, I will stay with you always. Really? Thank you, little Swallow. Then fly over my city. Give it to the poor. Yes, Happy Prince, if it can make you happy. Goodbye, Happy Prince. Oh, goodbye, little Swallow. I'm glad you're flying to Egypt. No, I'm not. I'm dying, Happy Prince. Oh no. Oh no. In the garden of Happy Village stand the statues of the Happy Prince and his Swallow whom everyone in the city looks up to.
