- In this non-fiction podcast, Australian screenwriter, director, musician and photographer, Aminah Hughes, talks with people in the film, music and other creative industries about the essence of their craft and what drives them to do what they do. The Lounge began as a video podcast in September 2020, simultaneously livestreaming pre-recorded shows on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and Periscope, and was quickly turned into an audio podcast, with episodes now available on Apple Podcasts, Deezer, Spotify, Castbox and iHeartRadio. Season 1 consists of seven episodes. Guests have been screen producers, screenwriters, songwriters, musicians, a stand-up comedian and a feminist poet. They have shared insights behind their creative process, the challenges of working in their field, how they each came to their craft, their most treasured experiences and entertaining anecdotes from behind the scenes. Episodes have included a mixture of serious discussion, getting into juicy and sometimes confronting topics, and lightness, humour and fun banter. The diversity of topics and guests, representing different facets of the entertainment industry, makes The Lounge a uniquely engaging and dynamic podcast. The Lounge falls into the Entertainment category. It is of particular interest to practitioners in the film, music and other creative industries, both established and emerging. It also appeals to people outside of the arts who have an interest in getting into the mind of an artist and learning more about the creative process.
