- Three men attempt to kidnap a doctor vacationing in the mountains of Washington state. The doctor falls down a steep hill side. One of the three kidnappers is tracking the doctor while the other two proceed with plans to extort $200,000 from his wife. The FBI gets a break when one of those two is arrested for another crime. Erskine and Colby try to pick up the trail of the doctor. Meanwhile, the physician is playing a desperate game of cat and mouse with the man tracking him.
- It's Sookie's wedding day and Jackson is wearing a kilt. Jess and Rory happen to see each other before the wedding, which Rory and Lorelai are part of. Chris has to leave because his girlfriend calls with some news.
- Rory and Dean attend a formal dance at Chilton. A mishap leads to a fight between Emily and Lorelai.
- Stuart Bailey, his prisoner and four others survive a plane crash and are washed ashore on an isolated island. Exploring their haven, Bailey learns to his horror that within 48 hours, it might turn out to be a death-trap.

Jeff spots her being held in an apartment, then identifies her when he finds one of her trademark "jingle bell" earrings on the sidewalk. Jeff pursues when the kidnapper moves her to a mountain ranch off Route 66.
- Stu Bailey investigates the title for a piece of land in Oklahoma that could yield a fortune in oil. But the owner is afraid to reveal that she has Negro blood, a revelation that would ruin her standing in the White world.
- In New England, two convicts stage a prison escape and cross over state lines into Maine. One of them had been scheduled to testify in a major criminal case. They force their way into a home occupied by a widow and her young son. Erskine and Colby lead the FBI's manhunt. Meanwhile, the prisoner who had been scheduled to testify is also being sought by criminals who want him silenced.
- Michael Staley, a mentally disturbed Korean War veteran, is determined to show he is important. His former sergeant in the service, now a criminal, is imprisoned and recently killed a guard trying to escape. Staley plants a bomb in a Minneapolis high rise building and sends an anonymous note to the FBI demanding his former sergeant be freed. Erskine and Daniels lead the bureau's efforts to find the bomb before it's too late.
- Sherry goes into labor and Rory agrees to be with her at the hospital. Lorelai remembers how she had Rory.
- Lorelai tries to patch things up with Luke. Rory invites her grandparents to her mom's graduation.
- After all the drama at the wedding, Lorelai is afraid she'll lose Luke, who needs time to process what's happened and finally decides her family and history may be too much for him. She takes to her bed to wallow where Rory tends to her needs while the town takes sides.
- Lorelai invites the residents of Stars Hollow to an elaborate feast complete with Elizabethan costumes and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
- A pedophile who Agent Lisbon caught and sent to prison is shot and killed. The evidence points to Lisbon herself and she has no alibi.
- The tension between Patrick and Kristina escalates when a Red John impostor strikes and Kristina offers her services to the CBI. However, the case causes the real Red John to come back and meet Patrick for the first time face-to-face.
- A cynical expatriate American cafe owner struggles to decide whether or not to help his former lover and her fugitive husband escape the Nazis in French Morocco.
- In Denver, almost $1 million is stolen when three thieves tunnel into a bank vault from an empty building next door that they've rented. Erskine and Colby lead the FBI's investigation. The ringleader, who spent all of an inheritance, plotted the crime so he could win back the woman he loves. The weaknesses of the three conspirators will eventually provide the clues the FBI men need to solve the case.
- Rescuing Rory after a night of reckless behavior with Logan, Lorelai is shocked to hear her daughter's plans for the future. Lorelai first turns to Richard and Emily for help, but soon realizes that Luke is the only person she can trust.

Lorelai and Sookie overhear Dean and Lindsay's problems and Luke works on his dating and communication skills with a self help tape that makes him realize that the one has been in front of him the whole time!
- It's Rory's birthday. She gets two parties. An elegant and horrible affair thrown by her grandmother and an informal fun party thrown by Lorelai.
- Luke, upset and missing Lorelai, begins to take it out on his customers. Lane realizes her mom is in her head, and with the grandparents back from their second honeymoon Rory makes it clear that Friday night dinners are just dinner and nothing more. Emily acts like she doesn't realize all the hurt she's caused Lorelai, but goes to see Luke to make things right.
- Lane moves in with Lorelai for the time being and lets Mrs. Kim know who advises her to wear socks. Lorelai the first visits and learns that Lorelai's inn construction is costing more then anybody expected. Lorelai and Rory play phone tag as their frustrations mount. Lorelai's financial woes reach a boiling point and so does Rory's school pressures as each have a melt down with the strong married men in their lives.
- Luke helps Rory move into her dorm, where she meets her new roommate. Luke has to deal with his relationship problem.
- When Emily discovers that Lorelai is dating Luke, she insists he come to dinner. Not to be outdone, Richard invites Luke to a game of golf, and Luke finds himself overwhelmed by the strength of the elder Gilmores' personalities.
- Rory stresses out as graduation approaches. Lorelai takes the stage for a karaoke serenade.
- This is a one-man show as Efrem Zimbalist Jr. does a solo performance. Stu Bailey is lured to a desert hideaway where an old enemy lies in wait to kill him. The enemy is never seen onscreen, only heard by voice.
- A victim is discovered in a park deliberately disposed of in CBI jurisdiction with evidence that Red John is involved. The team learns there may be another victim, and suspects Red John is luring Jane.
- PI Stu lensing brand-new silent flicker while battling gaggle of greedy heirs? Ex-screen goddess tabs Stu to spend whatever's necessary for a silent masterpiece, including rounding up her elderly former crew & cast-mates. Her adult children fear amateur mogul Stu will blow their inheritance, so they cast their own crew of experts, to prove Lucinda Lane's lost her marbles. Carhop Kookie wants a role in the spectacular too - reasoning he's a jumble of jerky moves already.
- Jeff sees enticing wanted robber Vetta Nygood, tails her to a remote mountain hideout, but her accomplices nab him. The ice-cold gang leader Hammett panics, so he ties & gags Jeff up in the abandoned house's attic. Then the 3 robbers flee after divvying up the loot, before the 4th thug, the menacing Deek arrives to claim his cut. Who gets to Jeff first: a chummy rattlesnake, the cops or the vengeful Deek ?
- Stranger on a plane proposes exchanging murders to crime-busting Fed whose wife won't grant him a divorce. A gossip column tips the stranger, a novelist, to the prosecutor's dilemma, so he trails the attorney onto a flight from D.C. to L.A. David the prosecutor isn't sure whether the charming "John Smith," the author, is seriously insane or just has a very cavalier sense of humor, so David hires Stu Bailey to protect his philandering wife from murder. Stu gets some unwanted aid from the Fed's future sister-in-law, who he fluffs off as an interfering ditz, but she turns out to have a very Hawaiian eye.
- Selkirk, a former Army officer, is bitter that he was never promoted beyond major. He breaks out two prisoners from the stockade of an Army base in Arizona. As Erskine and Daniels investigate, it's clear that Selkirk has an impressive collection of weapons. The two prisoners were labeled "incorrigibles" by the Army and their expertise includes demolition. Selkirk's target is a $750,000 Army payroll -- and he has the means and the intelligence to pull off the job.
