- In 1959, North African Jews rebelled against the Labour Party, which treated them as inferiors. There were disturbances throughout the country. In Wadi Salib, in the Haifa Valley, rebels set fire to a whole part of the neighborhood. The army surrounded the Wadi and destroyed it.
