Excellently done.

- February 5th 1958, a U.S. Air Force B-47 jet bomber collided with a fighter craft during a military exercise. Badly damaged, the crew asked permission to jettison its thermonuclear device (H-bomb) to avoid a possible explosion while trying to land at the Army airport near Savannah, Georgia. The bomb was dropped into the Atlantic Ocean near the border between Georgia and South Carolina. Despite initially telling the public that only "parts of a nuclear bomb" were lost in the accident, the U.S. Government searched in vain for what was a potentially fully operational atomic weapon save for a "nuclear capsule" which was not present in the device when it was lost. Nevertheless, the ocean's elements could corrode and eventually open up the bomb, releasing the refined radioactive uranium that remains inside. This documentary shows efforts lately made to find and recover the weapon.

- "The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat..." became synonymous with ABC TV's "Wide World Of Sports" which premiered in 1961. When most think of that phrase and the scene of Vinko Bogataj careening off the ski jump, the name and image of Jim McKay also comes to mind. James K. McManus always wanted to be a sportswriter and began in print, moving to television in its early years and on to becoming a broadcast icon in sports broadcasting. When he got his own national program in those early days, the network titled it "The Real McKay", thus giving him the moniker that we now remember him by. His legendary sports coverage crossed over to international news on September 5, 1972 when Arab terrorists invaded the Munich Olympic village, eventually killing 11 Israeli athletes and a German policeman before five of their own group were killed by authorities. During that time, McKay was a focal point in keeping the network, nation and world up-to-date as events unfolded. McKay narrates this autobiographical program, replete with photos, film clips and interviews with family, friends and sports reporting cohorts.
- October 17, 1957, the CBS Television Network diverted from its typical format of live dramatic presentations for "Playhouse 90" to cover Michael Todd's gigantic party commemorating the one-year anniversary of the release of his film "Around The World In 80 Days". Todd invited 18-thousand people to the gala in New York City's Madison Square Garden though the number probably was far greater because of party-crashers. Walter Cronkite hosted the coverage with future ABC Sports ace Jim McKay and news veteran Bill Leonard handling the interviewing of numerous celebrity party guests.
