- A resourceful British government agent seeks answers in a case involving the disappearance of a colleague and the disruption of the American space program.
- Whilst The Doctor, Steven and Vicki are traveling to their next destination, on the planet Kembel, Marc Cory, a Space Security Service agent discovers The Daleks are attending a secret meeting with their allies. Where Cory discovers the Dalek's evil plan, which sets the stage for the epic 12-part adventure "The Dalek Master Plan".
- The TARDIS is drawn by a mysterious force and lands on the alien planet Vortis. They not only set out to stop he Daleks' evil plot, they also discover an army of 12,000 Daleks are in suspended animation and are waiting to be revived to begin their universal conquest and claim themselves as the supreme rulers of the galaxy.

The Doctor and Sarah finds a group of humans and Daleks are searching for parrinium, a mineral which is the only antidote to a space plague. Both parties encounter the native people and trouble ensues. In an attempt to find what caused the power loss, the Doctor, chased by the Daleks, enters the Exxilon's lost city to stop the power-draining phenomenon.
- Returning to the medieval planet Peladon (50 years after "The Curse of Peladon") The Doctor and Sarah find King Peladon's daughter Queen Thalira has inherited the throne and the galactic Federation is at war with Galaxy Five and The Federation requires the mineral Trisilicate that will end the war. However, the miners led by the mad rebel Ettis are rebelling and refusing to work, as the ghost of the loyal beast Aggedor is frightening and killing off the miners. It is soon discovered that the ghost of Aggedor is a holographic projection and the culprits are a task-force of renegade Ice Warriors led by Commander Azaxyr and traitorous federation mining engineer Eckersley who have betrayed the Federation to Galaxy Five.

Logan dreams he is back in the domed city and he is being interrogated by the Sandmen about how he found Sanctuary and Jessica dreams she is being forced to take part on Carousel by a sinister man who forces her to wear a mask. Unaware, Francis and a Sandman have arrived to apprehend Logan and Jesscia and Arianna isn't what she seems.
- Logan, Jessica, and Rem meet some people who are actually aliens who have assumed human form by taking the body of people they encountered. Logan and Jessica are held captive. The aliens take an interest in Rem because they need his parts to repair a device that they use to transport to and from their home world. A man who's among the ones they tried to capture and take over helps Logan and Jessica and they try to save Rem.
- The runners are captured by desert dwellers and condemned to death. Francis attempts to rescue the trio.

Avon meets up with enemy Del Grant, brother of Avon's former lover Anna, and tries to disarm the bomb, having to put aside his differences with Grant.
