- Announcers roamed through the audience for this quiz show, announcing to the "Doctor" at the podium, "I have a gentleman in the balcony, Doctor" and similar phrases. If they answered the question, they heard "Give that man five silver dollars!" or a similar reward.
- Charley Wyckham and Jack Chesney pressure fellow student Fancourt Babberly to pose as Charley's Brazilian Aunt Donna Lucia. Their purpose is to have a chaperone for their amorous visits with Amy and Kitty, niece and ward of crusty Stephen Spettigue. Complications begin when Fancourt, in drag, becomes the love object of old Spettigue and Sir Francis Chesney.

That's all the motivation Vania needs to go to the front, find the one-armed paralyzed boy and marry him. Next she arranges to make love to his father just as the boy enters the room, causing the young man to blow out his brains.
- A southern girl (Withers) goes to a National Youth Association camp after her father goes to jail for bootlegging. When a mean tycoon tries to buy the campground for himself, she stages a show which endears her to him. Then her father escapes and catches the crooks who took the tycoon's money, and all is saved.
- Horace and Ethel Simpson, wealthy siblings touring Europe, fall prey to Russian conmen, one of who plans a marriage with Ethel. The executor of their fortune Daniel Pike, assisted by Grand Duke Vasill, exposes the Russians for what they are.
- A prime-time game show, where contestants earned one dollar for each second that the host's questions were answered correctly. Incorrect replies earned punishment - a stunt had to be performed, a la "Truth or Consequences".
- Fishermaid Marcia Manot finds an emerald which once belonged to a Norse queen and is cursed. Greedy American Silas Martin marries her, then sets her up for divorce. She kills him and weds his business manager Sterling, but a detective learns about Silas' death.
- The father of San Francisco waif Meg runs an illegal liquor club and supports "English" Hal in scheme to blackmail a wealthy girl. Meg is put on probation to Benjamin Merton, father of the girl to be blackmailed. When she discovers her father's plan she reveals all, risking expulsion from her new home and the company of its very attractive son Tom.
- Soda jerk Harvey is the most popular man in Blakeville, New York, and deliriously happy through three years of poverty-stricken marriage to Nellie. When a musical-comedy comes through town, Nellie becomes and actress and tag-along Harvey becomes "What's His Name." When Nellie falls for a millionaire and goes to Reno for a divorce, Harvey takes their child Phoebe home, where her later illness brings her parents back together.
- Football star Ted Radcliffe goes west to manage an inherited cattle ranch. Empire builder and cattle thief Don Paco is hounded by El Coyote (who is really Don Bob) who now has a partner in Ted. Unfortunately Ted is also falling love with Don Paco's daughter Adela.
- Belgian girl Yvonne is married to Karl Von Krutz who admits to being a spy after war breaks out. U.S. Captain Strong assumes his identity and aborts a mission he is on to save the lives of Yvonne and the orphans for whom she cares. For this he must face court-martial.
- Ramon loves Catalonian peasant Maria Rosa. He uses a knife belonging to her love Andreas to kill fisherman Pedro, so Andreas goes to jail for ten years. Maria will wait for him, but Ramon convinces her Andreas dies in prison so she agrees to marry him. On their wedding day Ramon is paroled. Maria then stabs Ramon.
- As California gubernatorial candidate Burton is about to cast his vote a truck crashes into the polling booth, critically injuring him and his opponent. A flashback traces his career from unemployed veteran to dockworker to lawyer. A side thread traces his tortured relationship with his wife
- Joe Palooka goes blind during a fight. An operation restores his vision, but he's told not to fight for a year. His trainer Knobby has picked up another fighter, but gangsters are pressing him to fix fights. Joe decides to risk his eyesight to save Knobby's honor.
- An overambitious ringmaster is deviously plotting to have his circus' owner done away with in a lion cage so he can take over the whole show. However, World War I intervenes and he eventually aids the Allied cause by joining the German army.
- Hal Towne is a Los Angeles widower with a bright ten-year-old son to raise (aided by a stern housekeeper). He writes a syndicated column, "All Around Towne," which brings him into contact with numerous competitors for the favors of his publicity-agent girlfriend.
- West Point cadet Tex Mallory falls in love with Gene Baxter, a girl who sings with his brother's band. Even though it will mean his leaving the Academy, they decide to marry. But when brother Bob writes a patriotic ballad, Tex knows service to country must come before marriage.
- The Weavers play sharecroppers. They confront their landlord with their tale of woe only to find he is in money trouble too. He also has a wastrel son and a socialite wife who wants a divorce. He begs the Weavers to trade places with him and fix things up.
- When motorcycle cop Dick Fay gives a ticket to Phyllis Crawford, her father's graft-fed influence leads to his demotion to foot patrolman. When Fay leads a raid on a gangster's place he discovers Phyllis there, helps her escape, then blackmails her father.
- Femme fatale Flora marries a titled European to save the family plantation. Her husband and a rival fall to their deaths in a glacier. Next Flora weds her sister Margaret's love Admah and bleeds him dry. While he's in prison she goes back to the decaying plantation to die.

- Captain Wynnegate leaves England, accepting the blame for embezzling charity funds though knowing that his cousin Sir Henry is guilty. Out West he and the Indian girl Nat-U-Rich save each other from the evil cattle rustler Cash Hawkins and marry. Lady Diana shows up to announce Sir Henry's death. After Nat-U-Rich's suicide Wynnegate takes his half-breed son and Lady Diana back to England as the new Earl of Kerhill.
- Esra Kincaid takes land by force, and having taken the Espinoza land, he sets his sight on the Castro rancho U.S. Government Agent Kearney holds him off until the cavalry shows up and he can declare his love for Juanita--"The Rose of the Rancho."
- In the 1920s Pat Jackson destroys a Chinese post and is discharged from the Navy. Li Po Chang hires him to run a gunboat up the river. He drops Wildeth off at a mission for safety, but when his boat returns the mission is being attacked by communists. If he can drive off the communists he may be restored to the Navy and receive permission to marry Wildeth.
- Trader Ned Stewart's father Graehme was unjustly accused of adultery and killed. Ned sets out to avenge his father but is captured and send on "la longue traverse," the long journey to death. Virginia saves Ned, and the villain confesses Graehme's innocence on his deathbed.
- Paul Morgan makes his living through his cartoon strip "Bachelor at Large", which largely describes his amorous adventures in and around California's Malibu Beach. His boss John, best friend Peter, and housekeeper Thelma each take different views of his romantic romps.
- The cases of the staff of Cutter Community Hospital in the small rural community of Cutter, Texas.
- An old sheikh punishes his son Jamil for robbing a caravan by giving his horse to the wronged merchant. The horse is sold to a Turkish general, then given to Christian missionary Mary Hilbert. Jamil takes it from her but then, after falling in love, save her and her father. When his father dies, Jamil must relinquish Mary to become the new sheikh.
- The Court of Last Resort was founded by Erle Stanley Gardner in the 1950s. The team sought to reveal whether someone already found guilty might really be innocent. The show dramatized the original crime then followed the investigation. Actual cases were used.
- After becoming involved in a killing, Kiddo gets on board Boyton's ship. When he learns what happened he dumps her on a South Sea island. Tom Brian marries her, and when Boynton returns he's furious (he wanted to marry her). When Boyton is killed Kiddo is accused of the crime and even Tom thinks she's guilty.
- Tarzan and Jane are to sail for England. They are attacked by natives and Tarzan is believed to have been killed.

- This was the film debut of Joe Keaton, Buster's dad. In one scene he kicks each of the principals into a horse trough. Roscoe owns a blacksmith shop and Joe a garage in the town of Jazzville. They are rivals for schoolteacher Alice but join forces against new arrival Al. Buster performs at a village ball.
- Charter pilot Bob flew everywhere, often playing amateur detective. He had an aerocar, a vehicle which worked like a car until he attached its optional wing and flew off. He was aided by bodyguard Lionel and by Hank, tomboy daughter of the owner of his airstrip.
- Tarzan and Jane are sailing for France in answer to a call for help from Countess de Coude who is being persecuted by her brother Rokoff.

- In a Mexican border town Arthur befriends cantina girl Poll. She falls for him but he still loves the dancer Rosa. When the cigar Poll gives him explodes and blinds him, Arthur is duped into thinking Poll is Rosa and marries her. When his vision is surgically restored, he leaves for Siam to find Rosa.
- A drought is about to end the cattle business. The owner of a canning factory wants to buy all the remaining cattle cheap. He plans to ruin the cattlemen's plans to ship water by train and to seed the clouds for rain. Roy is sent by a packing house to investigate.
- Bootlegger Ed Carson is sent to prison. His old gang turns from liquor (now legal) to kidnapping. When they nab the son and daughter-in-law of the judge who sent Carson to prison, he is paroled to help in the capture.
- Sign painters Joe and Lucky travel around New England looking for jobs. After Joe uses Madge as a model, she hides in their wagon. The painters are about to be charged with kidnapping until she promises to marry Joe. In New York he attempts to paint a huge sign that has stopped others before him.
- Socialite Jane Dale and lawyer Bill Shevlin run into each other in an automobile accident. Clummerhorn is a small town judge, sheriff, etc. and decides to try them. She is trouble at first, but she and Bill warm to each other as the trial goes forth.
- Gene Autry inherits and runs a meat packing company. To get Gene to sell, the lady owner of a rival company starts a feud to derail Gene, who tries to recover by using rallies, parades, and bands.
- Roy Rogers (Roy Rogers), owner of a transportation service for moving race horses from track to track, prepares to take a number of thoroughbreds to the Pan American fair races at Monterey. Among them is "Dancing Girl", a fine mare owned by Doris Stewart (Dale Evans), who is being forced to sell the horse in order to keep her ranch. Doris and her trainer, Dave Norris ('Douglas FOwley'), accompany Roy and his outfit to the border at Caliente, where they are approached by Rosina (Charlita), a young gypsy fortune teller who begs Roy not to continue the trip. After crossing the border, Roy and his men are attacked by masked bandits, the horses are stolen and the stable boy is murdered. Accompanied by Doris and his sidekick Pinky (Pinky Lee) and the a Mexican Commandante, Roy goes to the gypsy camp to find Rosita. She is not there but Roy spots the stolen thoroughbreds hidden among a herd of wild horses near the camp. He also finds the dead body of a horse that appears to be "Dancing Girl." The loss of the horse means ruin for Doris, who is unaware that Norris and his crooked partner, "Studsy" Denning (Frank Richards), killed a mare resembling her horse and left it where Roy could find it.
- Cortez sends Alvarado to Montezuma who throws him into a dungeon from which he is rescued by Tecza who loves him. He is recaptured when her lover Guatemoco finds Alvarado hiding in her chambers. Tecza next leads Cortez into the city, thus causing the destruction of her nation and securing the love of Alvarado.
- Hail the conquering zero! Clueless "war hero" Captain Wilton Parmenter takes command of Fort Courage.
- The story involves a rather odd flashback by Dale who is visiting El Dorado, home of her grandmother. She dreams about her grandmother's adventures including a romance with a cowboy who looks very much like Roy. Roy, of course, also exists in the present for Dale.
