"This is Your Life Irene Ryan" aired one week after the final appearance of "The Beverly Hillbillies" (September 7, 1971, a rerun) on the CBS prime time lineup. This was one of Ms. Ryan's final appearances before her death in 1973.
- Popular 1930's female vocalist Lillian Roth is paid tribute to by her friends and associates in perhaps the most famous episode of the "This is Your Life" program with it's frank discussion of Roth's battle with alcoholism and her current life of sobriety as she attempts to rebuild her career. This episode was recreated in the classic film biography of Roth, "I'll Cry Tomorrow" (1955) with Susan Hayward as Roth and Ralph Edwards appearing as himself.
- The life of 1920's "Boop-Boop-a-Doop" singer Helen Kane is paid tribute to by family, friends, fans, and associates, and includes stories from her post-fame life battling illness and financial difficulties. Episode includes rare television appearances by songwriters Harry Ruby and Paul Ash, as well as one of Helen Kane's final appearances.

- Martha Raye goes into seclusion to rest, moving in with Mrs. Goldberg (Gertrude Berg) and posing as her cousin Sophie.
