- In 'The Green Dragon' gambling club, operated by Hu Chang (Ernest Borgnine), a merchant marine, McMillen (Jon Hall), bets the last of his money. He is cheated out of his winnings. He gets a job on the Sally Ann as the engineer. On board is Paul Lowell (Ron Randell) who killed Tamara's (Lisa Ferraday) uncle for some valuable jade. Tamara and her thugs catch up to the Sally Ann and recovers her uncle's jade and kills Lowell, her fiancé. Meanwhile Hu Chang is after the jade too.
- Miss Bayles (May Robson) has been trying to close down a business operated by Clarence (Alan Hale). Clarence runs a crooked gambling operation in the back room. Miss Bayles uses Clarence's crooked dice to beat him and uses her winnings to open a respectable business for her students to use. Her business gets closed down after a fight in her establishment and the school board replaces her as principal of the town's school. Clarence is feeling pretty good about his victory over Miss Bayles until she tells him she also lost her pension. Clarence sends a fellow classmate and former student of Miss Bayles a telegram. The former student happens to be the President of the United States and he comes to town to honor Miss Bayles.
- Three young men, with a common fondness for football, become roommates the at United States Naval Academy where they experience its rules and traditions.
- Ellen (June Allyson) is kidnapped by her father (Charles Bickford) after she ran off and got married to someone he thinks is a gold digger. She escapes and starts an adventurous trip back to Houston to be with her husband. Her father hires a private investigator to stop her. On the bus to Houston, a newspaper man (Jack Lemmon) figures out who she is. Instead of cashing in on the big story and the reward money he falls in love with her.
