- What are you going to do when you're 13, live in a trailer park with your lesbian mom and an older sister who keeps sneeking her scantily clad boy friend into the trailer? To make matters worse you've just lost the kid you were supposed to be babysitting and have a bit of a crush on the cute boy who's just moved in.

- In the early 90's seventy youth from a Hollywood homeless shelter started a theatre project encouraging them to tell their stories.. The youth ran the gamut of racial, cultural and sexual identities. Only ten completed the project and became performers. This film documents the process. The resulting play, Friendly Fire, was performed at the prestigious Los Angeles Festival before going on to tour high schools throughout the city.
- Jack resists taking a trip to France with Lisa while dealing with some old memories resurrected by remodeling Marion's room into a nursery. Caleb asks Ty to be his best man but has difficulty asking him to move out as Ashley wants. Amy agrees to be a bridesmaid at Ashley and Caleb's wedding.
- Amy finds that she's over-committed when she promises to "de-sensitize" three horses for the local police. Deciding that she needs help she calls in Chase. Meanwhile Amy's returning the last of Ty's things throws him and when Jack discovers that Ty is skipping classes and not showing up to help Scott, Jack proposes a road trip.
- Everyone at Heartland is concerned by the bad publicity surrounding Olympic Trainer Stewart Forrest's lawsuit against Amy. Even Chase pulls his horses from Amy's training. Ty lends Amy his support and Lou does a little investigating. Meanwhile Caleb returns from his honeymoon alone. His wife, Ashley, has remained behind in Italy for an additional week with her mother.
- Caleb's rodeo buddy Bryce returns from Afghanistan in a wheel chair and asks Amy to get his horse back into condition so that he can sell it. Amy would rather convince him to try riding again. Caleb's wife, Ashley has still not returned from Italy. Jack gets a call from the Foothills Cowboy Hall of Fame but it turns out it's not for what he expects.
- Police locate one of the guys who robbed Daphne but Travis wants to exact revenge rather than identifying him. John asks Bay to design a campaign billboard but the campaign manager is not happy with her efforts. Regina locates a dream job but a late night with Zane leads to problems. Toby agrees to work on his dad's campaign but a day spent putting up lawn signs leads to something else entirely.
- Scholarship student Samantha Best meets her new roommate Kathryn Klarner and the girls make plans to check out the town's hottest club. The girls bring along frosh basketball phenom Devon Sylver and his lumbering but lovable Brahmin roommate John Brittenham. While the foursome wait outside in the queue, teen actress Dawn Vargaz dances and drinks to excess inside. It soon becomes a night they'll all regret.
- Lou comes back from Dubai to spend time with the family. Ty and Amy discover where her father's rustled cattle are being pastured and the whole family rides out to bring them back. Meanwhile Ashley's mother offers to give Ashley the lot that the trailer is on if she'll get Caleb to sign a marriage contract (pre-nup)
- Tim decides to enter his racehorse, Lightning Dexter, in claiming race despite Amy's objections. Amy and Ty's troubles are aggravated when Chase comes to town and offers to put in a bid on Dexter. Meanwhile Lou finds out that she's pregnant and though Peter comes home, he really needs to be in Dubai.

When Amy again gets Chase's help Ty is concerned. Meanwhile, Jack is concerned that Mallory is neglecting her horse, Copper. Lou discovers that while Peter is home with her, his business in Dubai is in crisis.
- The Kennish's case against the hospital comes to trial and a second, prior baby switch is discovered. Bay's parents find out about the money she took from the safe. Nikki's boyfriend has a problem with her playing in a band with Toby and Emmett. Chef Jeff tries to put the brakes on in his relationship with Daphne.
- Bay is concerned that Regina is drinking again and sets up a dinner with Zane and Regina and Daphne and Noah. Melody is organizing the resistance to the school board's plans to incorporate more hearing kids into Carleton in the the next year. After the first girl quits, Kathryn asks Daphne to take the role of Juliet, throwing Noah and Daphne together a lot. Toby has a difficult talk with his dad after John's opponent informs him about finding her daughter and Toby in a hot-tub.
- Roger Casement was an Irish born diplomat who worked for the British government. He was knighted by the crown for his services but was convicted for his role in the Easter Uprising during World War I. When his "black diaries" were made public revealing his homosexuality all public support faded and he was executed and soon written out of Irish History. The diaries are now being subjected to intense scrutiny as possible forgeries and the man's role in history is being reevaluated.
- Tensions boil at an English catholic boys' school during WWII. When a German paratrooper lands on the school grounds only to be killed by a mysterious boy who has just arrived, the audience soon learns that more is going on than meets the eye.
