- The Lithuanian Jewish community was decimated in the Holocaust: over 220,000 Jews, more than 95% of the population, were murdered. A key player in the massacre was Lithuanian nationalist Jonas Noreika, who is today revered as a national hero, and protected by the contemporary government's official policy and infamous Lithuanian Genocide and Resistance Research Centre. In this galvanising documentary, follow the experiences of two dissident campaigners: Grant Gochin, whose family was murdered by Noreika; and Silvia Foti, a brave Lithuanian woman fighting for the truth... and whose grandfather was Jonas Noreika. Together, the two push against Lithuania's systemic Holocaust denial in an attempt to bring justice to victims and the truth to account.
- The Raven is a touching and exciting portrait of one of Israel's most contradictory figures. Born in Odessa, Jabotinsky was a brilliant writer and passionate spokesperson for Russia's ethnic minorities. Eventually refocusing his energies and skills to the Zionist cause, he established the controversial Revisionist Party. While Jabotinsky is often memorialized as a key founder of the Israeli far right, director Ayelet Ofarim presents a more complex portrait of his dynamic life and character, complimenting readings stunning animation and wonderful narration.
- When Albert Einstein visited Palestine in 1932, over 85,000 Jews lived there, and judging from the newspaper headlines, nearly all of them came out to greet the most famous Jew of his generation. For the next 12 days, Einstein kept a personal travel diary cataloging his impressions of the emerging Israeli State; he wrote excitedly about a culture of labor, the future of Zionism and, quite amusingly, of the beautiful women he met in this fascinating new land.
