In spite of the insistence of Eden, she refuses to reveal the identity of her baby. At Johnny's, Lionel offers Caroline to work with him at the museum, to collect funds. Without having given him an answer, Caroline leaves the bar to go for a walk on the beach. She smells a presence by her side and calls for help. Pearl, who had left his research because of fog, succeeds in helping the unknown person escape. But when the police arrive there, all traces of the steps and Thai of pillow left by supposed rapist have disappeared. In the Orient-Express, Cruz is approached by the ambassador of the governor of Baja in Mexico who tries to entice him by praising his charisma. But Eden arrives and tranquilizes the ardour of the young woman. Cruz cannot however refuse the mission which was entrusted to him, in spite of his desire to leave now with Eden in Utah.
- The local press announces the official pharmaceutical redemption of Hang glider by C.C.. Alex entrusts Jeffrey with the information that his plan of revenge towards C.C. will do its course. Kelly and Jeffrey cross paths during their working day to squabble. Their boss asks them to work on a plan of advertising for a product of beauty products of their choice. In lack of inspiration, Jeffrey embraces Kelly to sing the praises of a lipstick. Keith refuses to think that Caroline could be attacked by the rapist, in spite of Lionel's insistence which tries to exonerate his son. Eden goes to her parents to announce that she and Cruz are going to get married in intimacy in Utah. C.C. proves first to be very disappointed of this decision, but Sophia ends up persuading him to accept this choice. Each gives a present to Eden to be used for the ceremony: a dress from Sophia and a necklace from C.C. But Eden fears a bad omen when she drops a glass bowl filled with artificial snow which bursts in pieces.
- At Johnny's, Ted introduces Hayley to his new friend Lucy, who he met in therapy. By seeing a kitchen knife, Hayley gets frightened and recollects the rape. Kelly comes to visit Jeffrey, who stayed in the hotel room because of a fever. By lining up her business, she sees Alex's old photo together with Pamela. Julia decides to return the 5000 dollars to Mason who wanted to give it to his baby. At the same time, Victoria discovers papers from the bank mentioning a remittance of the same sum. In Mexico, Cruz endures advances from Carlotta Quilvar. He is almost happy to see off-loading Pearl, come to ask him to join him back in Santa Barbara on the track of the rapist. Having accepted the wedding presents from her family, Eden goes to the airport to take her plane towards Utah. An unknown young woman seems to spy on her. Arrived at the destination, Eden becomes established in her hotel room, with a neighbour; the same young woman, combing a long blonde wig.
- Being a jealous man of Alex, Keith makes many proposals to Gina, who proves to be almost ready to being enticed. But Keith does not cease teasing and Gina pushes him back. Pearl and Jane who are in Keith's office recover the file of inquiries into rapes. They discover that for Hayley and Victoria, the rapist chooses victims who had made an outburst at Johnny's. Back in the bar, they pretend to have a dispute so that Jane acts as a decoy to identify the rapist. Cruz exposes the plan and threatens to stop them for obstruction in justice. Ken, the barman at Johnny's, is interested in Pearl and Jane's discoveries. It seems currently obvious that he is responsible for these attacks. In Utah, the woman who followed Eden pays the pilot of the plane whom will be flying Eden to the mountains so that he cancels. Eden decides then to pilot herself with a plane which she must borrow. On the road of Salt Lake City, in the middle of the snowy mountains, Eden picks up a blonde young woman who is hitchhiking, and asks her to lead her up to her car. But it is the same mysterious young woman who, at the first opportunity, stuns Eden by hitting her on the head with the back of a revolver. She takes Eden out of her car and throws her down a snowy cliff. Eden is lying still in the middle of mountains.
- Keith invites Gina to have dinner at the Orient-Express, having discovered that she has no more news about Alex for some time. In the restaurant, Gina just falls on Alex, who apologises for his silence and offers her to have dinner with him. Gina is running from one table to the other one, without her two guests being aware. Jane goes to see Pearl, without knowing that she is being followed by Ken the rapist. Ken is stopped in the momentum by Cruz's visit which has just enlightened Pearl, stopped for voyeurism, prowling near the window of a woman with binoculars. But as soon as both men leave the flat, Ken throws himself on Jane. Jane, by trying to defend herself, removes the tights off the face of her attacker and discovers that it is Ken. In the mountains of Utah, Eden gets up again from her fall. Hurt on the head, she wanders by chance from the snowy mountains before falling again. A man dressed in skins of animals seems to follow her. Meanwhile, the attacker of Eden arrives at the airfield. She leaves a message for Cruz so that he thinks she is arrived well at the destination and flies off to the orders of the plane reserved by Eden. In flight, she deposits a bomb in the plane and exits before it blows up in the sky.
- Jane succeeds in freeing herself from her attacker and leaves Pearl's flat by running. She finds Cruz and Pearl at Johnny's and tells them what took place. But back at Pearl's, there is no more trace of the attack: everything was tidied up and cleaned by Ken. Ken meanwhile goes to Johnny's and empties the case. Sophia and C.C. accept a call from Utah: they tell them that the plane of Eden disappeared in-flight. For his part, Jeffrey learns the news on the radio in a special news flash. He informs Kelly, who in her turn goes to tell Cruz the terrible news. Cruz refuses to think that something bad could happen to Eden. He decides to leave for Utah to start searching. C.C. chooses to accompany him, by asking Sophia, Kelly and Ted to stay in Santa Barbara, to wait by the telephone. Arrived in Utah, Cruz and C.C. see Kelly arriving, decided to help them to find a trace of her sister. Eden, still unconscious, crosses the snowy area lying on a wooden sleigh drawn by the strange man in the woods.
- Victoria goes to find Mason and tells him about the disappearance of Eden. In the Capwell residence, Sophia accepts the visit from Alex then Jeffrey, come to bring her their support, while Rosa answers many telephone calls from the journalists. In Utah, the sheriff learns from C.C. and Kelly that wreckage of the plane was found, believing that it has blown up in flight. He then shows Cruz keys and driver's licence of Eden, found there. In spite of this proof, Cruz refuses to face the facts, before cracking in the arms of C.C.. In the helicopter on the place of search, Cruz sees nothing else than the snow which covered the trace of the plane on the ground. Farther in mountains, Eden wakes up in the cabin of the mountain dweller. Mute and in a half conscious state, she allows herself to be treated by the man who notes that her fingers move normally; it is not the case of her legs.
- Keith seems affected by learning from the Santa Barbara Tribune that Eden died in the explosion of the plane. Pearl and Jane come to ask him to release Brick, now that it seems certain that he is not the offender of the rape of Hayley. Keith refuses in front of them not to give in, but Brick ends up being released. He goes to Cruz to comfort him, having already known the same drama with Amy. Ken goes to Brick and phones Johnny's. He passes for Brick and requests that Jane joins him to bring Johnny's toys. When Jane arrives, Ken surprises her and skips over to her. Brick and Pearl, informed about the wrong phone call, hurry to arrive there. Keith goes to Cruz, desolate of the death of Eden. He asks him not to pay attention to the message which he left earlier on his answering machine, where he showed himself to once again be very sarcastic in relation to his marriage. Nonetheless by listening to the message, Cruz discovers on the machine an old message left by Eden, which devastates him. In Utah, alerted by the fever of Eden, the mountain dweller pulls her in the sleigh up to a hospital. There, the verdict is unconditional: further to lesions of the spinal cord, Eden will never again be able to walk.
- Jane is driven by Ken up to a disused warehouse. Pearl calls Cruz to come to help them to save her. Julia fears that Cruz, depressive and at the edge of suicide, will act with foolishness. In the warehouse, Brick succeeds in getting Jane outside, but Ken takes aim at Cruz. Cruz manages however to stop him. Caroline and Lionel are the first to be reassured of the success of the operation of their child. In Utah, Cain overhears a discussion by the doctor of Eden who doubts reasons of her accident. He then decides to bring Eden back to his cabin, even if it means having to stun a male nurse and take his place. Back in the mountains, Eden seems more and more frightened facing Cain.
- Sophia proves to be strong to encourage C.C. to get ready for memorial service in honour of Eden. Julia, then Mason, try to persuade Cruz to go there. Jeffrey accompanies Kelly in the church where the ceremony takes place, inferring that it is important to organise the funeral, what he could not do before for his mother. Behind the stand, Mason comes to replace C.C., who struggles to read the poem which he had reserved for Eden. Cruz, finally, struggles through a speech. At the end of the church hall the woman at the origin of the fall of Eden prowls. Eden, still immobilised, tries to write on a piece of paper. Remained mute until now, she succeeds finally in pronouncing her first word: "Cruz".
