- Although Nobuyoshi and Saki just got married and moved into a new apartment, their relationship still lacks spark. Things start to change as they meet a weird fortune-teller who also happens to operate tours to hell. Without further ado the young couple books a honeymoon trip which takes them to the most bizarre, colorful and fun vision of hell you could ever dream of.
- Former punk rocker Jonen, now a Buddhist priest, seems to have lost the meaning of his life. His manic depression handicaps him further. Music seems to be the only solution for him to exorcise his demons, against all obstacles and sound volume controllers.

There, the editor learns that Deko's weird friends have been desperately trying to kill him because of the book Deko wrote about their embarrassing memories. Despite their countless attempts at murder, Deko's dumbness keeps him from even noticing his friends' intentions.
- When Miro's transsexual friend Noripee dies, Miro and his friends from the gay bar 'Eden' are once again reminded of the discrimination they are constantly facing from society. They decide to convince Noripee's parents, who disowned her, to bury Noripee's body.
- Kinta and Ginji are best buddies. Sometimes they get on each other's nerves, but they don't hold a grudge for long. They are way too straightforward for that. Every other day, they meet up and roam the fields and forests, lie around in the grass, or make music. Just two normal guys - but one of them is a tanuki (racoon dog), the other a robot. Things get even more curious when other talking entities and objects appear.

- In 1961, a spectacular criminal case shocks Japan: at what became known as the "Nabari Poison Wine" incident, five people lose their lives at a village social gathering. One of the attendants, Masaru OKUNISHI, is made out as the main suspect. Rumor has it that he wanted to kill his wife and his lover in order to end his extra-marital affair. After being questioned by the police for days, he signs a confession, only to withdraw it soon afterwards. Nonetheless, he is sentenced to death and all pleas for a retrial are denied. SLEEPING VILLAGE documents the tragic story of this case, the traumatizing effects of which still linger on today.

When he learns that she is a famous actress shooting a film in his beloved hometown Kyoto, he doesn't hesitate for a second to apply for the last remaining acting role - as a taxi driver. Based on a radio drama, Gion Taro's odyssey is charmingly animated with paper cutout figures, set against the backdrop of scenic Kyoto.

His film publicly accuses Japan's uncompromising refugee policy through one of the country's biggest human rights scandals.
- Young Japanese architect Tsubame has to face his family history: His Taiwanese mother took his brother Ryushin back to her home country during their childhood. In order to follow the last wish of his father, Tsubame hesitantly travels to Taiwan for the first time to see Ryushin again after more than 20 years.
