- Hellen plans a relaxing day at the spa for her and Lindsay, but Lindsay foils her plans when she turns what was supposed to be a short hearing into a full day in court. Bobby and Eugene are called to the house of Bobby's old friend, where his teenage daughter gave birth to a baby, and suffocated it to death.
- Scott Wallace is put on trial for murder yet again, with Bobby determined to prove his mental state is responsible for the crime. Lindsay becomes terrified when William Hinks continues to harass her, with the police being unable to touch him, until Bobby's decision to take matters into his own hands gets out of control.
- Joey Herric returns, having killed yet another lover by stabbing him in the chest. Hellen takes on the case, determined to finally get Joey, and Bobby tries to suppress his previous crime from evidence. Meanwhile, a disoriented Rebecca wakes up from her coma, and gets lost in the hospital.

Jimmy agrees to represent an old girlfriend who sold her eggs on the Internet and is suing a man who now refuses to pay. His old feelings for her are awaken, which forces him to reexamine his his relationship with Judge Kittleson.
- The firm represents an outrageously clever client, who is accused of stabbing his lover to death, but pulls a brilliant legal maneuver in an attempt to get away with it. A series of unfortunate misunderstandings causes Jimmy to be arrested for solicitation.

Meanwhile, Helen tricks a confession out of a traumatized 15 year old girl, accused of killing her unborn baby, and Ellenor argues she is too young to withstand such trickery.

Lindsay sues a cigar company for breaking up a marriage, and reveals her fears about her own relationship with Bobby.

Meanwhile, William Hinks' stalking of Lindsay gets more and more disturbing, and eventually turns deadly.

But no matter how tough the case is to prove to the jury, the real threat comes from the judge. Meanwhile, Bobby tries to get the Wallace verdict overturned, and Helen struggles with what she knows about the star witness for the prosecution.

Bobby represents a man accused of killing his step daughter, with whom he was having an affair.

- The firm is hired by an insurance company in the trial of a little boy who got hit by a car, until the company's doctor uncovers evidence the he suffers from an extremely life threatening condition. Everyone is horrified when the insurance company orders them not to reveal that to the boy's parents, putting his life in grave danger. Jimmy, however, refuses to comply with those orders, telling the boy's parents everything - and is shocked to discover Eugene has reported him to the bar, recommending his immediate disbarment.

Getting more and more angry, Eugene must come to terms with the reality of his job and the effect it has on his personal life. Meanwhile, Jimmy defends an old friend of his, being sued by a former employee for violating his privacy and announcing to the entire company that he has AIDS. However, as the trial progresses, Jimmy realizes he had hidden reasons for doing so.

Meanwhile, Lindsay confronts Bobby about his affair, and even goes to Sarah for answers.
- Lindsay represents a young man accused of murder, and is shocked when new ADA Alan Lowe makes an extremely questionable maneuver to nail her client. Jimmy represents a bookie, to whom he is in grave debts, in a very messy divorce, until it escalates to murder.
- With their petition for a DNA test denied once again, Ellenor and the others must come up with a new idea to exonerate Stuart Donovan and keep him from being executed for a crime he didn't commit. But even after a test reveals the sample from the crime scene doesn't match Donovan, Ellenor is shocked to discover the DA still refuses to cancel his execution. In a last ditch effort, the team goes before Judge Wood, desperate to make him see beyond the technicality of the law, and save Stuart Donovan's life.
