- The story of a group of British teens who are trying to grow up and find love and happiness despite questionable parenting and teachers who would rather be friends (and lovers) than authority figures.
- Freshman Rusty Cartwright arrives at college and decides he no longer wants to be the boring geek from high school. He decides to pledge a fraternity. He is offered 2 bids; one from his sister's boyfriend Evan's fraternity and one from Cappie, his sister's ex-boyfriend's fraternity. Rusty must learn to handle his new life, and his new relationship with his sister. His sister must decide if she loves Evan who is stable or Cappie who really loves her.
- Paul is trying to get Kerry and Bridget to talk to each other after they both date Kyle. Kyle tries to get Bridget back and has his brother's apartment for the weekend. Paul, frustrated by the whole thing, dozes off and dream Kyle is Jack Tripper, his daughters Kerry and Bridget are Janet and Chrissy respectively, He and Cate are the Ropers with Rory is Larry Dallas from Three's Company (1976).
- Joshua Hayward is a single parent who has his hands full with his daughter Sarah who wants to elope with her motorcycle driving boyfriend. They wake up one morning to find that there is no electricity, water or telephone service. When Joshua tries to leave their suburban neighborhood, he finds their way is blocked by an electrical field of some kind. Sarah has plans to run off but she meets an alien creature who is dying and she too is infected. Joshua eventually learns the truth: their entire neighborhood has been carried off to a distant planet to see if humans would be suitable as slave labor. For Joshua, there is only one course of action available to the survivors.
- New, stricter rules for students are implemented. The new sorority president, Casey, suggests a back to school carnival. Rusty and Casey still deal with breakups.
- Cappie tells Casey about him dating Rebecca and he will be her date for the big sister little sister double. Casey finds a great date be he turns out not to be what he appears. Rusty hopes the pledge project will bond him with the other pledges but they have other ideas. Dale offers to make Calvin straight
- Casey and Evan has trouble normalizing relations between Omega Chi and Zeta Beta. Rebecca has trouble taking care Cappie during his illness like Casey did. Rusty has trouble keeping his new girl interested while Dale wants his new girl to back off.
- When Omega Chi has a party to celebrate Evan's saving them from the new restrictions Cappie decides Kappa Tau must have a competing party but they are broke. Casey makes Rebecca the Sober Sister to keep here from going to Cappie's party instead. Rusty must decide how to break up with Tina when he decides a sex only relationship is not all he wants. Evan makes Calvin keep other guys from Casey. Calvin's new boyfriend seems hesitant.
- Rusty and the pledges study for their, know your brother, tests for KT. While collecting information Rusty comes across a mysterious KT and investigates.Calvin is nervous as his new boyfriend forces him to explore gay life, including his first visit to a gay club where he meets an old friend
