- Vic and Ingrid get married but her mother is intrusive and Ingrid keeps taking her side. Ingrid falls down some stairs and loses the baby. A row with her mother sees Vic leave. He gets their own flat, which sees Ingrid and Vic reconcile.
- Ingrid and Vic settle into their flat. When his boss at the music shop dies Vic finds that he will lose his job. However, an old friend offers him work in Longford, 200 miles away. With her mother unwell, Ingrid is reluctant to move.
- Vic has moved to Longford and gets a boarding room. He meets an actress, Donna, who he gets on well with. Somebody sends an anonymous letter to Ingrid about Donna, which raises her suspicions. Somebody has got it in for Vic.
- Vic finally decides to leave Ingrid. She blames Donna but Vic explains that there is a lot more. He rushes home when his father is injured in the pit. His meeting with Ingrid becomes acrimonious and she starts divorce proceedings.
- A captain takes over a tramp steamer and finds that the crew have walked out. His previous two commands have sank with a loss of life and they consider him a jinx. King gets the crew back and sails with them to find out what is happening.
- A young boy is playing with a cap gun and 'shoots' a man who promptly dies. He runs away thinking he has killed him. He tells Nick what has happened and, when he investigates, the body has disappeared.

- The Hartman's have a party with John's Aunt Grace and Billy Bob's mother livening it up but also making it very crowded. When John and Georgie, looking for some privacy, make out in a store dressing room they get arrested.
- John's first wife, Diandra, who left him for their female marriage counsellor, wants to come for a stay. John's not happy with the idea of her visit but Georgie is quite happy. This completely changes when she gets here.
- Madeline is given the opportunity to inspect a time-share resort. She offers to take John, Georgie and Billy Bob for holiday. What John and Billy Bob weren't told is that it is a singles resort and that they will have four other singles with them. They also have to complete a number of activities in order to get their return plane tickets. Things get worse when they do a computer check and find out John and Georgie are married. Unfortunately, it is up to Lonnie to save them.
- Georgie is having trouble fitting in with the town and still feels she is an outsider. When she hears that the local council are going to shut the library, she chains herself to the library door until they reopen it.
- It's Christmas time in the Hartman household. Georgie is trying to have a traditional Christmas and she also tries to instil a spirit of giving in the family. However, when things go wrong tempers get frayed and John is injured.
- Georgie confides to Madeline that she feels that John is too good and that he is too ready to agree with what she says. Madeline suggests that all the office should have a weekly group therapy session to air any issues that concern them.
- Vic and Ingrid have divorced and Vic has a well paid job in London. He returns from Australia and resumes his affair with his boss's wife. After seeing Donna on the TV, he arranges to 'accidentally' run into her at a pub.
- His date with Ingrid went well but he takes a bit of a ribbing from his work mates. Their relationship continues to have its ups and downs. Vic is offered the managership of the shop where he works on Saturdays and he takes the job.
- Ingrid is better after her fall and visits Vic. They start getting very serious and, despite taking precautions, it ends with Ingrid being pregnant. Vic reluctantly proposes to Ingrid, although all parents are upset with the situation.

Joan Babelite introduces Faith to Faith and there is another episode of Police 3 1/2. There is a musical tribute to politicians and then an attempt by the BBC to show 'cheery' news. Los Paranoics entertain us and the mafia party give you an offer you can't refuse with a party political broadcast. Finally, Vicki Lustre stars in Born to Bitch.
- Everybody goes to Giles and Gloria's country mansion. Veronica and Marcello return to Leslie's dismay. Mr. Morella tells Jacko that he cannot marry Lucia as she is to marry somebody else. Paulette convinces Elmo to buy her a country house.
- John is astonished about how mature Ben is about girls. Billy Bob is hit upon by a woman and he is very happy initially. She is in favour of accelerated dating but she is too aggressive for Billy Bob. He asks Madeline for help.
- Georgie's pregnancy is progressing but Elliot is not happy about it. Lonnie is in a car accident, hit by cars being driven by Billy Bob and Madeline. As he needs assistance, the Hartmans put him up in a bed set up in the lounge.
- Lonnie becomes the town gossip when his newspaper column, Little Big Mouth, becomes successful. Billy Bob is uncomfortable with the new assistant, especially when he thinks he sees her on Hard Copy and that she is wanted for murder.

- The big controversial issue at the local school is whether students should have access to condoms at school. John and Georgie have opposite views. The children have been given the responsibility of looking after their neighbour's rabbit.
- John and Billy Bob go to a private men's club called GPDN and Georgie is not happy. They convince Lonnie to go undercover with a recorder to find out about the club, which is an anticlimax when they find out what GPDN stands for.
- John and Georgie are looking after a girls soccer team. Georgie gets riled when the coach of a boys soccer team thinks that girls shouldn't be playing, she makes a bet that her team of girls will beat the boys team.
- Georgie and John are having trouble resuming marital relations, mainly because there are misunderstandings. Lonnie and his girlfriend are also having troubles, mainly due to his inexperience with women. They give him conflicting advice.
- King receives a blood-stained parcel from a man and with it is a note asking him to deliver it to his niece, an attractive female third mate. When a man offers a large some of money for the parcel's contents the niece is suspicious.
- Madeline's ex husband is getting married and it reminds her of how upset she was with him. So they come up with a way to get back at him. The children do a play satirising what the adults are doing, which makes the them think.
- Vic breaks off the affair with Miriam. Vic goes out with Donna and her son. When he is home, Vic sees a photo of himself and notices that there is a similarity with Donna's son. He confronts her with the photo, and she tells him the truth.
- The musical guests are Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen, Sheila Southern and Jack Jones. Ernie is encouraged to take up modelling by Eric. Ernie is feeling ill and gets little sympathy and help from Eric.

- Elliot has started ballet lessons and John is worried about it, thinking it is unmanly. Carson Lee raises a lamb to raise money. She becomes upset when she learns that it is going to be killed for food and wants her dad to buy it back.
- Madeline takes her teenage group on a camp with Georgie and Carson, which doesn't end well. John, Billy Bob and Lonnie volunteer to be the leaders of a new scout troop and also go on a camp, but the boys need constant pampering.

- A man's body is washed down the river and the only ship he could have come from denies any knowledge of him. Things escalate when he is found to have died from the plague and the ship is quarantined.
- When Carlo Montagna, captain of an Italian cargo vessel, docks in Montreal, he is brought face to face with his fifteen-year-old son - whom he has never met before.
- A murderer is being sought on the docks. He kidnaps the daughter of a ship's captain and blackmails him to take him out of the country. King joins the ship and works out what has happened but stopping the man is more difficult.
- Jean and Eric announce that they are expecting another baby. Sandra and Jimmy have a row and they break up. Veronica announces that Marcello is moving in with her, which upsets Leslie. Jacko helps a woman in distress and then dates her.
- Giles and Gloria are in London and organise a party at Elmo's. Everybody goes to the party to try and cheer up. Jacko new girlfriend plays for a soccer team but he breaks up with her because she is more interested in football than him.
- Veronica decides not to sell the business and makes Sandra the new manager. She and Marcello finally head off to Sicily. Elmo hires a boat, takes off and makes Leslie the wine bar manager. Jacko gets two tempting offers of a place to stay.
- Interpol suspects that a ship from Marseilles is involved with drug smuggling. King works with an Interpol agent to find out how the smuggling is taking place and by whom.
