- Future Casualty Paramedic Finlay Newton actor Kwame Kwei-Armah features in a story of racial hatred. - Will is horrified when Claire upsets Charlie and moves into their home. However, his rejection of her proves dangerous as she takes revenge in a horrific way.
- A girl student laces her chocolate cake with dope resulting in a catastrophe for one of her potential boyfriends. A young boxer refuses to throw a match but loses more than the fight. Baz makes Charlie cross by delaying asking Peter for a divorce so he goes off with his other girlfriend. Rachel's admirer returns with an unusual injury and leaves believing he has a date. An army woman with PTSD attempts suicide by underriding.
- Injuries, arrests and a death are the result of toxic waste dumping; while it's clear Harry still wants Selina, she reluctantly works alongside her philandering husband Will Manning who is investigating the case. Luke and Claire are now an item; the nasty loan shark pays a visit to Abs at work.
- A bomb planted by animal rights activists seriously injurs a vet instead of the target and a dog is killed in their escape; Tess' husband and son are both making recoveries from their conditions; Bex returns to work and Claire is horrible to her; a beautiful young woman from Guppy's past breaks his heart again.
- A runaway Land Rover on a caravan site on a remote hillside leads to Casualty Car Crash#48; Josh and Liz are flown in to tend to the injured girls. A building labourer with a history of self harm followed by attempted suicide sets his sights on an attractive young woman. Kate's husband's condition gets worse and the family have a conference about what to do. Sam finds a puppy in a cardboard box and smuggles it into the department. A superb singer entertains the patients waiting for treatment but has a sad reward.
- After a night reunited in lust for Mike & Rachel, Tim chases her car and is later admitted with an attempted overdose. Battling babes Laura and Jude have another slanging match. Ash tells Charlie he is engaged to Laura but Ash's dad is unhappy his son intends to marry a white woman. Laura actress Lizzie McInnerny's brother and Blackadder star Tim appears as an alcohol dependant man whose woman, also a drinker, vomits blood while presenting a meeting. A gypsy woman believes she is blind but finds her sight loss is due to cataracts and is therefore operable. A JCB driver & unsuccessful gambler drops a massive stone block on another worker. Mike, furious about Henry Reeve-Jones' evading justice for his profiteering, hands in his notice. Gutless Charlie nearly soils himself when Baz's husband Peter comes in wanting information about the failure of his marriage & Baz tells him she is expecting Charlie's baby.
- A clown is admitted, sad because he wishes to leave his partner in clowning. A young man hijacks his big sister's BMW and causes Casualty Car Crash#55. A beggar's woman is injured when the couple request cash from a belligerent man of the cloth. The woman transpires to be the vicar's daughter. Discontented Liz reveals her plan to Josh to resign and go travelling. Jack, having confided in Charlie that his pregnant painter woman fiancé has left him, vents his frustration on Sam. He is later called in for a ticking off by Elliot for various errors and general attitude, and after finding out that it was Baz who dropped him in it over the patient who died, hands in his resignation in a fit of pique and walks out.
- A neighbour of Valerie's is found collapsed with hypothermia by her social worker; a 1988 stereotype friend of Alex' tries to persuade her to leave nursing for the financial sector; a Holby Athletic footballer believes he's entitled to preferential treatment because he used to play for Sunderland and a woman pushed beyond endurance from caring for her mother strikes out at Duffy & Jimmy.
- A high ranking Sally Army man is having a sexual relationship with a married woman; later while driving he swerves to avoid a child resulting in Casualty Car Crash#38. The increasingly bad tempered Liz tells her boss she no longer wishes to work with Josh or take her exam. A small girl with a needle in her foot also has a mother who walks out leaving her unattended. A transvestite has a fall down a staircase but fortunately his window cleaner is on site and calls the paramedics. The son of a woman who is selling her prescription drugs is badly beaten by a drug dealing gang. Charlie & Baz's relationship starts the episode in 'on' mode and ends it in 'off'.
- An immigration officer quizzes Abs about the now AWOL Ellen and their possibly fraudulent marriage; Guppy and joker Woody deliver a baby in a broken lift; Pete tries to get Claire onside; Mike is involved in a serious road traffic accident; Luke visits Bex.
- Ash and Mike both want to leave: Mike because his wife wants to try a reconciliation and Ash because of the assault case. The name of Mike's replacement doesn't ring any bells with Charlie - but her face certainly does. A transsexual and her daughter are injured at a shopping precinct fighting off a mugger. The daughter is a Jehovah's Witness and therefore refuses blood - and reminds Mike that he isn't God. Other patients include a small boy with a broken arm and a baby with an abdominal problem whose brothers and sisters have bruising. Mike finally tells Rachel he's getting back together with his wife.
- Joanna runs into the middle of a medical emergency whilst on her day off. Rita Barratt arrives back in Cardale. Back at the practice, there's a special delivery for Dawn and Sam.
- Howards' Way meets Blake's 7 when various old Holby City footballers convene for an anniversary celebration and argue about the bungs they took for throwing the match. A riverboat master is unfit for duty and falls in the river. Rachel gets a card and a visit from one of her admirers and her watch goes missing from the staff room. Matt's dad is brought in with injuries sustained while under the influence of alcohol. The son is suspected when a woman is admitted with injuries for the fourth time in six months. Baz tells Charlie that her husband wants children but is infertile; she and Charlie go to her hotel together.
- Sam's interest in MS sufferer Anna becomes less then healthy when he lets his heart rule his head. The situation blurs his medical judgement and causes friction with Andrew.
- In an episode featuring six cigarette smokers, rogue "Paramedic" Fred Chambers is on the loose and administers adrenalin to a small boy whose highly strung father takes sweet revenge. Rachel is shocked to find Tim is now a colleague working as a porter. Matt tries to cover up his dad's theft of Jude's bag. The wife of an old man with Alzheimer's falls down stairs. It looks like Charlie has lost Baz back to her husband.
- A tanker driver crashes into Casualty, hitting the ambulance carrying his pregnant wife in the process; as the basement fills up with petrol, there are multiple casualties and a death in the team, and Bex is attacked by an addict using the situation to gain access to the pharmacy.
- Mike Barratt has returned; and we are introduced to new doctor Richard & nurse Gloria. Baz needs an emergency caesarean to deliver baby Louis. Future Casualty and Holby City top dog Jac Naylor actress Rosie Marcel appears as a woman who's lost a tampon internally. Eastenders' star Jake Wood appears as a villain involved in a warehouse robbery that goes seriously wrong. A husband leaves his wife who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown and who takes extreme measures to keep her two children quiet.
- Events occur in parallel with the previous episode but from alternative perspectives. Animal rights activists end up in Casualty when their bombing campaign backfires. New doctor Toby starts and is quickly nicknamed Dracula - "because he sucks"
- Two girl destitutes become prostitutes and are dealt a fatal dose of Heroin by their Madam; a woman concocts an elaborate story to conceal car crash damage from her husband; receptionist Matt tries his luck with uncredited agency nurse Claire. Mike Barratt confides in Ash about his marriage break up.
- A jealous woman spies on her fiancé hoping for evidence he's two timing her and, believing she has some, causes Casualty Car Crash#43 to a soundtrack of "Careless Whisper". The younger brother of a mechanic on probation car jacks a Ford Sierra Cosworth but panics when he finds there's a baby on board; Charlie's car gets stolen for use as a getaway vehicle. An argument between two brothers results in one sustaining a head injury. Tim comes looking for Rachel and daft Daniel gives him her address. A woman asks for instructions on how to cook her frozen turkey - Kate gives her all the information she requires. Laura believes she's got away with informing on Reeve-Jones to the press.
- Matt arrives for work on his new motorcycle; he and Kate's husband appear to have a history. A boy with cerebral palsy is admitted. The lawyer acting for the boy's parents in a negligence compensation case knocks down a woman with her car and transpires to be pregnant and suffering from an over active thyroid. A former Bread actor and a troupe of cyclists clash resulting in Casualty Car Crash#36. Rachel continues to give Mike the cold shoulder.
- New doctor Nicole finds an abandoned baby outside the hospital, Rash and Rida deal with the return of Fern and a cosmetic procedure gone wrong, and Jacob worries about an undiagnosed diabetic teenager.
- A paraplegic boy has his wheelchair stolen; a headmaster has a stroke and his besotted deputy pretends to be his wife; Dixie lets promotion go to her head; Alice is full of regret re.Harry; Kelsey blackmails Nathan and Selina says yes to him.
- Charlie gives the rest of the crew the news that Ash has been charged with assault; a young boy discovers his father has overdosed on booze and pills; a 15 year old girl with a gay mother is in a sexual relationship with teacher; Commitments' babe Angeline Ball appears as a stressed community bus driver with a horrible husband and involved in Casualty car crash#30. Matt has vital evidence in the Ash court case.
- Guppy gives his dad an ultimatum; Woody rescues a small boy from a swimming pool and remembers the boy's mother from a sexual encounter; Sam's latest girlfriend is using sex as a tool to obtain his prescription drugs; is a gung ho army sergeant guilty of misconduct?
- An aggressive boxing trainer knocks out his son who inhales a tooth; a young woman has an alcohol problem; the paramedics visit a woman with agoraphobia; Julie has a bad date with Jimmy; Charlie and Valerie continue to bicker about everything under the Sun.
- Zoe is desperate to get pregnant - unfortunately, Nick is not aware of this. Jay, who has been on a drug trial program which has resulted in several deaths, is given the all clear as he was given the placebo. Ruth gets married - unfortunately for Jay it's to someone else.
- Charlie, Comfort, Abs & Guppy go to Cambodia to administer medical help. Guppy and Abs go for a massage but Guppy runs out thinking the masseuse is a sex woman; Charlie is reunited with Duffy, but Charlie suspects that Duffy's latest boyfriend, a drinking doctor, may not be all he claims; Guppy saves a boy's life using a woodworker's brace and bit. Meanwhile back in Holby, the new Cambodian doctor gets Maggie and Harry flustered for different reasons, and the piece of road used for all Casualty's road traffic accidents is put into use when a double decker bus full of unruly school children turns over.
- Nina says no to Bruno who takes revenge by circulating a rumour he and she are lovers; the new casualty admin man makes Harry want to resign but Ellen changes his mind then moves in for a snog; Guppy's terminally ill dad asks Guppy to end his life.
- Matt obtains a Christmas tree which later has its decorations stolen; Jude is not pleased when he tells her of his plans to emigrate. Richard asks Gloria to spend Christmas with him. A little girl, distressed when told Santa Claus does not exist, is badly cut by broken glass when she runs into a greenhouse. An irascible piano tuner injures himself when he smashes a violin to make a point to an apprentice. A priest reacts violently when his young niece is killed and sister are critically injured by a remorseless drunk driver. Richard has another meeting with his GP regarding possible treatment for his MS.
- A woman farmer is injured when dealing with a tractor fault and a man with a bomb holds the department accountable for the death of his mother. Jude has competition for Adam's lust in the form of an uncredited agency nurse. Charlie & Baz kiss.
- On the day of Charlie's hearing for sexual harassment, a reporter pesters staff for information and pretends to have a hand injury to get attention - Baz gives him what for. Matt takes Jude to the clinic for her abortion. A jail bird's wife, just having found out her sister is pregnant by her husband, causes Casualty Car Crash#50 by ramming the prison van taking her husband, another con and two officers to court. The attractive young woman artist has commenced the re-drawing of her mural and seems interested in lonely, single Jack. A top cop, known to Kate and on site to oversee the prison van crash casualties, recognises the driver as a wanted criminal and has him arrested. The second jail bird makes an escape by stealing the reporter's car. The cop asks Kate on a date. Charlie is suspended pending more evidence.
- Mike returns from a fortnight's holiday abroad to an angry Rachel wanting to know why he didn't tell her he was going. Some boys out for mischief release a car which crashes through a community centre full of partygoers. Matt is lodging at Adam's, but will he outstay his welcome? A woman named Elvis Presley has a foot complaint. Has a woman deliberately assisted her Alzheimer afflicted husband to attempt suicide?
- This episode is actually introduced by Ed "Stewpot" Stewart not Tony Blackburn. Acts appearing are Peter Blake performing "Lipsmackinrocknrollin"; Donna Summer and David Soul appear on video performing "I Remember Yesterday" and "Silver Lady" respectively.

- An off licence robber is injured making his getaway and his female partner in crime will only seek medical help by telephone. Josh and Liz bring in a student with possible Guillain-Barre Syndrome. A big fight breaks out an ice hockey match involving a man with a child custody issue.
- Josh and Penny go to the rescue of a 15 year old girl and get trapped when the building collapses. Max is on hand to advise from above. Former Grange Hill star Joseph Kpobie appears as a boy accused of abduction - the ubiquitous PC Garratt is on hand to take him into custody. An awkward old timer played by Roy Barraclough thinks he knows more than Dr George.
- Nikki seeks Roxy's advice about her pregnancy; a man puts his wife in danger by putting steroids in her food; a boxing trainer's injury is investigated by his insurers; Tally still wants to get close to Simon, but Simon wants to get closer to Lara.
- Bad scaffolding at an athletics event causes a spectator stand to collapse resulting in multiple casualties. Mike is back & Rachel doesn't want to hear about his family reunion. New PR babe Laura and Ash take a very obvious liking to each other. Charlie is anxious to resume his now adulterous relationship with Baz.
- A naughty schoolgirl runs away from home and hitches a ride with a trucker displaying a variable Geordie accent played by future Casualty bad boy Nathan Spencer actor Ben Miles who dumps her at the roadside when she is taken ill. Richard makes serious enquiries of Gloria into her love life situation and finally asks her out for dinner. Various staff give blood including Matt who tries it on with a married blood scheme admin woman but has better luck with Jude. Charlie reveals to an old woman patient his middle name is Rupert. Trevor's family hold a final bedside vigil and we also say goodbye to Mike.
- Reporters confront Laura about Reeve-Jones' underhand profiteering. An old woman farmer shoots herself in the foot. A woman under stress caring for a husband with Huntington's chorea falls on broken glass. Tim gets the sack because Rachel put in a complaint about him, but he still imagines his feelings are reciprocated. A Kurdish asylum seeker on hunger strike at a detention centre ends up in casualty when he bails out of a car. Laura says yes to Ash. Tim confronts Rachel in the car park at hometime, but Mike is on hand to offer Tim physical harm and he and Rachel are reunited for a night of sexual love.
- Abs is unwilling to go to the police about Guppy's beating, even though he was aware it was happening; Bruno's money making schemes now involve hiding a patient's records; a land owner and two gypsies are badly injured during an attempted eviction; the DNA test proves Woody is not the boy's dad.
- A man asks his daughters to help end his life; Norma ends up seeing Casualty from the other side of the desk and Jane considers making a career move into hospital management.
- It's a busy night in Holby, with Queens now downgraded the team are feeling the pressure. A football cup match causes chaos; Charlie is angry at Jane and Paramedic Lucy is held hostage in a siege.
- In an episode clocking in just short of 42 minutes (Drama rerun 22/12/23), there is a gas explosion at a care in the community household. Ash and Laura's first kiss is witnessed by Jude. A training exercise at an RTA sees Liz lose her temper. Baz's husband seeks Charlie's help with a business deal.
- A prison officer on the eve of retirement lets loose a convict to visit his re-partnered wife with the inevitable violent outcome. Matt's parents have their own violent backstory. Ash is understandably unhappy about Matt's decision not to testify. Their shaky start apparently behind them, the relationship between Mike and Rachel is now full steam ahead.
- In a child heavy episode, Sam shows a group of children around the department; Josh and his helicopter see action when a boy suffers hypothermia by falling into a flooded quarry while his mother is distracted by two scuba diving fools; meanwhile, in another 'Watch this space' moment, Liz and a new colleague who will later be revealed as Donna Alexander are called in when Baz & Charlie's baby Louis is admitted with convulsions having been deliberately overheated by his suspiciously attentive nanny. A woman questions the relationship between her husband and his sister who is ambulanced in with gastro interritus. Two lovers are admitted, the man with groin injuries, the woman with head injuries from being hit by a table lamp by the man.
- In an episode featuring Eastenders' superstar Letitia Dean, patients include Matt's no fixed abode father who Matt is not overjoyed to see & a no fixed abode old woman apparently suffering from amnesia. A drunk driver with his stoned sister in law/lover on board is the obvious suspect when a little boy is the victim of a hit and run. The atmosphere between Baz and Charlie hits a new low.
