- Jack escorts Janet to a dull private party but when Jack consumes a tranquilizer and alcohol he becomes the life of the party.
- When Furley's attractive niece is visiting, Jack wants to go out with her but can't because Furley thinks he's gay. So Jack pretends he has a lookalike brother visiting from Texas named Austin. Furley buys it, but things get complicated when Furley wants to spend time with both Jack and Austin.

He calls the police and a detective comes and plays the tape, Jack leaves for a moment and the cop only hears Jack's earlier conversation with Furley about "pot" "from Mexico" that could be costly. So the police go after Furley.

- Jack and Janet come home and find the apartment all a mess. They can't find Cindy. They learn that there was a commotion earlier. They assume something happened to her so they try to find her.

But just before his appointment Terri dumps the guy with Janet's help, and when he sees Jack in her place he assumes it's because of him. Unaware of what has happened, Jack goes for his appointment.
- Janet starts working as an aerobics instructor. Jack, Terri, and Mr. Furley attend her class to show their support. Jack shows an interest in her female boss, but it turns on him when Tina expects Jack to be her constant companion.
- Jack and Terri believe that Janet is dating an 18-year old.
- When Janet's parents arrive, Jack and Cindy learn that her parents think that she and Jack are married. And when they stay, she and Jack have to keep up the charade which includes them sleeping together which is awkward.

Mr. Angelino's tells Jack to have a brunch at his restaurant and will invite the minister to show him his place is respectable. He asks Janet and Terri to come and dress conservatively. But things get hairy when an amorous newlywed couple who are waiting to go on their honeymoon come in and start making out. And Larry's date turns wild after he gets her drunk.
- Jack feels the heat when he has to give a cooking lesson to the wife of a loan shark who wants Jack for the main course.

- Terry thinks the only way she will get a promotion is if she has an affair with her boss, so Terry pretends to be married. When Dr. Kenderson and his wife show up at the apartment for dinner, Jack pretends to be the husband.
- Jack and Chrissy take turns sucking up to Janet who has acquired a pair of Frank Sinatra tickets. Th roommates are also entrusted to take care of a parakeet that Mr. Roper bought as a gift for his wife.
- Janet's male friend cannot go on a business date with her and her boss, so she asks Jack. Jack has a cold and the strong rum drinks make him loopy. In the morning, Jack wakes up in Janet's bed and doesn't remember what happened.

- Janet's company has sent efficiency expert Bobbi Willard to her flower shop to monitor and critique her performance; it has been driving Janet crazy as she sees it as nitpicking. Jack takes Bobbi out to lunch, which doesn't help. Janet finally has enough and quits. With Mr. Furley's help, Terri hatches a plan to get Janet's job back and Bobbi out of her life.
- Chrissy gets a film camera to make some home movies but the projector is put to deviant use when Larry acquires a porn movie.
- A bully at the Regal Beagle comes onto the girls, so Jack comes to their defense.
- When they find a cat on their doorstep, they take it in, but unfortunately pets are not allowed in the building so they hide it. But when Furley sees it, he takes a liking to it and takes it in. But when an inspector his brother sent to see if all the rules of the building are enforced, he hides it. At the same time the cat's owner, a little girl, comes looking for it and when Jack asks for it Furley tells him that he took the cat to the pound. So they each get a cat for the girl. When the inspector arrives. they try to hide the cats.
- Jack, Janet and Chrissy hide a puppy from Mr. Roper until they can find him a new home.
- Upon the discovery of Jack, Janet and Terri's planned move out of the apartment, Ralph Furley and Larry hatch a scheme to divide and conquer in order to keep them at their current location.

He discovers that it needs a lot of work so he pulls all of his money in the bank to use on the renovation. But he still needs to come up with the rent money and the bank won't grant him a loan.
- Jack meets a beautiful woman who also happens to be rich. They continue to date for weeks and Jack is smitten. Denise has plans to mold him into the perfect man with dress, actions, and a new career for her spouse.

- Jack helps an elderly woman in the apartment complex take her groceries to her apartment. She is so grateful she brings him a thank you gift. Then she gives another, and soon she is constantly around and interfering in his life.
- Jack convinces Janet and Terri to hire their former roommate Cindy as a maid to clean the apartment. It does not work out.
- Jack and Chrissy agree to take over Janet's babysitting job for a night. To their dismay, they are met with a crying baby, no TV, and a locked liquor cabinet.
