- After P. C. Gordon is murdered and robbed of a diamond ring that he bought as a birthday present for his wife, one of the thieves, C. Dates, is apprehended. A woman prosecuting attorney makes a compelling case against him, and he is given a ten-year penitentiary sentence. Dates escapes and heads for the vacant lot where he buried the ring. Meanwhile, a boy playing in the lot digs up the ring and gives it to his older brother, Guy Braxton, a prosperous dry goods merchant. Guy shows it to William Jackson, an unscrupulous lawyer. When Pauline Keith, Jackson's young stenographer, learns of Jackson's scheme to steal the diamond, which also involves her own father and a woman named Flora Fulton, she begins to investigate.

On his release from prison, Marchmont, disguised as Victor Cromport, uses the light to revenge himself against his former wife, Jewel, and her partner, James Dawson, who framed him for theft. Making himself invisible, Marchmont gradually ruins Dawson. He so wins Jewel's confidence and love that she is willing to kill Dawson at Marchmont's request. Finally, Marchmont leaves the scheming couple to their own misery and marries Jewel's sister, Ruth Marsh.

Z tracks down the document and is nearly seduced in the process, but he resists her and returns to the comforts of home, his adoring mother, and a pet bulldog. In a chic restaurant one evening, she challenges him to a dancing duel, which he wins. After her confession of love, he goes home with a toothache. The contract is returned, the married couple plan to go away on a trip - all is ending as it should...

When an old friend of his father, who is always traveling from one Jewish community to the next (and has told him first about the theatres in the world), Baruch becomes a little bit homesick and returns for a holiday to his old shtetl to see his folks and to pick up his childhood sweetheart. But his father wants him not to enter his house, so he returns to Vienna, with his bride. But his old friend does not stop trying to convince his father of his errors.
- After the America Civil War ends, important political and military figures gather in Washington D.C. Gunfighter Wild Bill Hickok (William Hart) retires to Dodge City where he hangs up his gun belt and takes over a card table. Local lawmen are unable to rid the town of lawless cowboys. Hickok's arch-enemy and gang leader Jack McQueen accuses Hickok of losing his nerve. Hickok visits General Custer and retrieves his sword, taking up his role once more as a fighter for what's right. He returns to Dodge City and enlists the help of friends Wyatt Earp, Calamity Jane, Bat Masterson, Doc Holliday, Charlie Bassett, Luke Short, and Bill Tilghman to clean up the town. Hickok falls for the wife of George Hamilton (Carl Gerard). Pursued for his crimes, McQueen leaves town and gets away. Hickok follows him and tries to bring him to justice.
