When his Brother Emilios wins a place at Blackpool School of Art, Mike convinces his parents to let him attend full time and after graduating applies to the Royal College of Art, winning a scholarship to study Textile design. There is a Black cat motif in much of Mike's work and the animated cat is attracted to the viewer who can interact with it.
